Weekly Vocaloid Ranking # 199 (July 18-25, 2011)
Hello! I'm sorry that I'm a day late. It's just that Utaran published his ranking only yesterday and I had to adjust the posts. I have more time than usual this time, so I took time to listen to everything, but I doubt that I made lasting reviews since my brain is still mush :(. There are quite a few producers here who I don't listen to at a regular basis, but have thoroughly impressed me with this week's uploads.

01. Karakuri Pierrot (Hatsune Miku) - 40mP
- ↑02 Title means "Marionette Clown" or "Mechanical Clown", however you'd like to interpret "marionette". This song is also all over the Utaran, with many wonderful people covering this awesome song.
02. Yume to Hazakura (Hatsune Miku) - Aoki Gekkou
- Title means "A Dream and a Blossom-less Cherry Tree". This is the first time I've heard of the producer, but if this isn't amazing! The piano melody coupled with the folk song-inspired melody is just so lovely. Miku doesn't sound bad, too!
03. Kuwagata ni Chop Shitara Time Slip Shita (GUMI) - UramanbouP
- KEEP. Title means "When you chop a stag beetle you will go into time slip". I'm amused at the title for reasons other than the obvious ones...
04. Alice in Musicland (Hatsune Miku, etc.) - OSTER Project
- This is an Alice in Wonderland parody with the Vocaloids as the story's characters. The beautiful part here is that it is presented (animated, composed) in such a way that it does sound like a musical, w/ different voices and rhythms and scenarios. I wish Fuwacina would make more songs like this, as this is one of her few songs that I really like *_*.
05. Endroll A (Kagamine Rin) - YuuyuP
- Someone's on a roll XD. It's actually my first time getting hooked to a YuuyuP Rin song since Tengaku. Tengaku is still my favorite, though XD.
06. Aa, Subarashiki Nyansei (Kagamine Len x GUMI) - Nem
- ↓01 Title means "Ah, the Wonders of a Cat's Life". I like Len's "suteki na nakama" here.
07. I (GUMI) - FayeP
- The piano music here that escalates despite the loud guitars is awesome!
08. Mono wo Barabara Kowasu (Hatsune Miku) - Kikuo
- The title means "Everything is Ruined". Another one on a roll.God, Kikuo T___T. Your songs creep me out so much (why do they have to have babies in them?). It's kinda cool, though, really.
09. Twinkle (Kagamine Rin) - Junky
- ↓05 This is not as catchy as Melancholic, but it is STILL catchy ;;. It is also quite popular among utaite.
10. Shinryaku (Kagamine Rin) - samfree
- Title means "Invasion". S-sobs I honestly thought it was LiveP when I saw the PV (I'm sorryyyy, I was too used to it). Samfree's Rin, though, sounds different from LiveP's. She's a bit less sharp and smoother, although lacking a bit on impact, especially against the rockish guitars. Still, quite an interesting listen.
11. Nenchaku-kei Danshi no 15-saii Nechinechi (VY2) - UramanbouP
- ↓06 VY2 sounds so good! He doesn't sound like KAITO or Len surprisingly and sounds soooo smooth. I'm waiting to hear more songs sung by him *_*.
12. Sayounara Analoguma (Hatsune Miku) - MowaMowaP
- Analoguma is a mascot by 2ch and its name means "Analog bear". It is a representation of analog TVs and is 2ch's way of opposing Chidejika, the deer mascot which was made to promote digital/cable broadcast. This is a song saying goodbye to analoguma (or analog TV, specifically). (It is not Pedobear, btw XD).
13. Messiah or Desire (Kagamine Len) - maya
- ...My god, this song. It's a nice listen and I loooove maya's songs a lot but they all sound so hiwai ;;. (I love maya's ...and taboo, too ). Len where are you putting your hand?! w
14. Os-Uchuujin -cover- (Hatsune Miku Append) - Takaoka Mizuki
- ↓04 Title my, Alien".
15. Yumekui Shirokuro Baku (Kagamine Len) - Nem
- ↓08 Title means "Dream-eating Black and White Tapir". I like theClear utaite versions more, since I thought Nem's Len sounds a bit shaky, but it's a very pretty song,gah.
16. Morning Shift (Kagamine Rin Append) - L-tone
- This is so interesting, in terms of rhythm and PV. I love it.
17. Hello Hello (Megurine Luka) - emon(Tes.)
- ↑19 At first this didn't really stick with me, but now that I've looped, I've learned to appreciate the subtly cute music in the BG.
18. Happy Synthesizer (Megurine Luka x GUMI) - Easypop
- ↓17 GEEZ THIS SONG FFFFFFFFFF It will forever remind me of Asamaru now...
19. Hi-Fi Girl HD (Kagamine Rin) - KagomeP
- Rin's tuned a bit weird, it's like LiveP's Rin and KagomeP's Yuki melded together, but it's an interesting listened coupled with the rock music and psychedelic-inspired PV.
20. Usagi Usagi (Megurine Luka) - IyaiyaP
- ↑24 This reminds me of Double Lariat, but catchier and rockish.
21. Mother (Hatsune Miku) - Kyouhei
- G-GAH Why is it so tearfully pretty ;;;;
22. Ama no Jaku (GUMI) - 164
- KEEP. Title means "Heaven's Weakness".
23. Go-honnin ga Iyagatteru no ni Moushiwake Arimasen (Hatsune Miku) - HobonichiP
- Title means "I'm sorry even the person her/himself dislikes it". LOL. I thought we already have an overflow of interesting songs from Uramanbou and Kikuo, but apparently, it's not complete until Hobonichi adds hers to the mix XD.
24. in chains (Hatsune Miku Append) - Ran
- This is so cool! I'm so impressed O:. The beat, the tuning and even the PV is so well done!
25. ALYSS (Hatsune Miku) - KuchibashiP
- ↓16 This is actually a cross between ALICE and ABYSS, I think.
26. Tobenai Hoshi (Hatsune Miku) - KulfiQ
- Title means "The Star that Won't Soar". KulfiQ is back with another addictive rock song, but with a slightly higher Miku than usual, but it still sounds nice.
