Last weekend, the_desserter and I were talking about HoehoeP/Nanou and his singing skills and eventually, it kind of branched out to producers in the utattemita category. Hence, this post is born XD.

Producers are known in the Vocaloid part of Nico Nico Douga as the composers, lyricists and Vocaloid tuners. But not many people know that a lot of producers also sing (either in the utattemita section only or in the whole doujin scene). Sometimes they sing covers of their own songs (self-covers) or songs of other Vocaloid producers. You may know one producer who sings covers of songs, you know, Tourai (minato/RyuuseiP)? XD He's one of the few who uses a different name for his covers, but that was because he was named Tourai/Tolie/Turai even before he admitted that he's minato ^^;.

Here are some of the producers who also upload their songs. Most of them have rearranged versions of the songs they are covering, sometimes just accompanied by guitar (they sound awesome, btw XD). These are some that I know of, but there are a lot more producers who upload their own singing, so if you know of them, please do inform me in the comments :3. The songs I used are just samples, though. Please visit their mylists for more.

- Before minato became "Tourai", he uploaded a song for ShinP's birthday (actually, a lot of producers covered this one song for ShinP's birthday) under his producer name. The thing is...he sounds different here XD;. I'm sure people who stalk his mylist already know this song, but I thought it would be interesting to link something minato uploaded the earliest :).

- I did a spotlight on Nem a few weeks ago, so you can look it up for more info. I like Nem's singing voice a lot, so I think he might be annoyed at me requesting that he sings more ^^;;.

- I'm sure everyone knows DECO*27 XD;. He just uses too much Autotune, imho :(

- Kous has wonderful, seemingly serene songs like "Nakimushi no Hanataba" and "Tokeiya no Yume" and I think his voice sounds serene as well :3 :3.

- I think Nishizawa-sanP's most popular work today is "Nakimushi Ensemble" although I also like his "Maigo Life". You might wonder why there are two sample links. Well, the first one is him singing in his normal manly voice while the other has him singing in his alter ego girly voice XD.

- HoehoeP also did works like the popular "Hello, How Are You?" and "Asayake, Kimi no Uta". I'm sure a certain person here could tell me more about him, so for now, I'll just say he has a good voice :).

- The producer who is loved by his fellow P's. Seriously, the number of producers covering "Alice" and his other works XD;. Aside from "Alice" he also wrote "envy" and "mugs".

- See what I mean? XD Yuxuki (Sorairo Club) is known for wonderful songs like "oval" and "Last Scene".

• Yuyoyuppe

- Yuyoyuppe is known for his screamo/rock songs like "Blue" and "Lost Story". He often covers his own works so he's really good at screamo XD. But why did I link two samples? Because his "Toeto" is cute :P.

- Re:nG is known for songs like "Symmetry" and "Le Grand Bleu". He sings a lot, imo and even does collabs with singers like Chachako. I think he also has a cover of "Imitation Black".

- Everyone who knows the Antaaaa Night Fever series (Luka Luka, Megu Megu, Miki Miki, etc.) knows samfree. He sings a lot of rock-ish covers as well as cracky covers with cosMo (hence the two links XD).

- cosMo is the king of super fast "Hatsune Miku no..." songs as well as songs like "Anti the Infinite Holic", etc. He sings less than samfree does, though.

• Machigerita

- The king of creepy songs with creepy PVs (lol, he did compose cheerier songs like "Ouka Ryouran"), Machige is also a prolific singer, even more prolific than minato, I think ^^;.

• Rerulili

- Mostly known for his "Itsumo Yori Nakimushi na Sora", Rerulili used to be a member of a band, and has a really nice voice. He sang his version of "Itsumo..." well, too. Two links because his JBF has guitar accompaniment and is just lovely. And Starmine...I'm biased XD;.

• NioP
- Boku wa Haineko (self)

- NioP is known for his beautiful ballads like "rain stops, goodbye" and "Mitsubachi". He has a cute voice (well, as far as I'm concerned it sounds cute okay XD).

• TsurutsuruP

- I don't know how much people know TsurutsuruP but I love his "Naname World" and "Haiiro". He has a slightly shaky voice, but I think it's adorable /shot.

• AwaawaP
- Subete ga Owatte Shimau Mae ni (Arata)

- I mostly know AwaawaP from his songs "Kanaria" and "Gomen na Sorry", but he has a nice voice ;;.

• ROY
- Endless Nightmare (self-cover)

- I love ROY's "Endless Nightmare" (and "The Gambler") so when I found out he covered it himself, I was thrilled. He does...sound like Gakupo at times ^^;.

- I mostly know Ichi because of his rearrangements as well as his own work "Jibaku". His arrangement of the sample above was really nice!

- The producer mostly known for "Lowry's Room" and "Yubikiri" has a voice that makes me wonder if he's eternally shy or something XDD;. Kind of makes you want to go "ehehe" but ahem.

- I'm sure everyone knows who wowaka is XD;. Wowaka also sings when he holds namahousou and he sounds really nice when he sings accompanied with his guitar.

• otetsu
- End of Ache (self-cover)

- The king of Luka rock (Stardust Utopia, Ame to Kusari, etc.) sounds a little like Gakupo and very ikemen-ish. He also has a deep, nice speaking voice :3 ...although he mostly has perverted namahousou (and weird...drawings...of Mona Lisa for example, IDKKK).

• OwataP

- OwataP of the Benzene series rarely sings, but he does it adorably when he does :3.

• KuwagataP
- Guriguri Megane to Gekkouchuu (FullkawaP)

- I...I haven't heard of any other covers from KuwagataP, who wrote "Kimi no Taion" and "Flashback Sound", etc. But this cover of his is really wonderful. I don't know why I'm drawn to it <33.
