As with last year, here is the huge annual utattemita ranking for 2011. As all of these songs have been featured in the Weekly Utaran (multiple times even!), I won't be including small details. I'll just be including the Romanized title, the singer, and the original composer. As my Internet is acting up as usual, I wasn't able to include links to the mylists and all that but I hope you understand :).

The Annual Utattemita Ranking is made up of several parts, all of them will be listed here in reverse order unlike my usual style. Let's look at them one by one :).

This week, Senbonzakura still reigns supreme, making it a bandwagon song that doesn't pale in comparison to Matryoshka and Ura Omote Lovers. This week also gives us a bit of nostalgia because there are a lot of covers of old songs, songs we have encountered when we're all new to the fandom. I hope you enjoy this one.

Also, as a very kind move, Utaran-san is trying to upload the Weekly Utattemita Ranking IN ENGLISH. That means the blurb, the intro notes as well as the data in the ranking will all be in English. This is really a plus especially to those who have a hard time watching and/or commenting in the original ranking. The English ranking will be uploaded in Nico Nico.Com and for starters, he has created a mirror of the ranking there. If you cannot comment in Japanese in the original NND video, go all out in commenting in the English site to show your comments and reactions to the ranking as well as thanks to Utaran-san, who is painstakingly trying to reach out to us foreign fans.

ATTENTION: Apparently, the MAJI LOVE COVER phase is 1000% STILL NOT OVER. So we're getting them by the bulk this week, some of them cracky, some of the....wait. ALL OF THEM CRACKY. Which is probably the reason why I'm writing in caps today. Apparently, the large amount of Maji Love I watched today has affected my cracky mentality! /shot

Seriously, though, there are only a few remaining from the previous week and there are a lot of wonderful songs this week. Of course, there's still the Shiryokukensa madness (a few), and lots and lots of collabs, which means you'll be seeing new names today :). I'm so late. Sorry. There's a lot going on right now which I can't enumerate so yeah. The Vocaran is also late. I'll...upload it tomorrow. I really am very sorry T_T;

Anyway, this week has a bandwagon song and that's 40mP's Shiryokukensa, so you'll be seeing a lot of eyesight test covers today. There's quite a few returners this week, too, if you might notice. There are also some repeating names (Glutamine, 96neko, Wotamin...) but there are also a lot of left-overs from the previous week. Anyway, it's not a letdown or an impressive week, pretty normal but there are still a lot to check out.

I believe most people already know amu, for his love of cola, for being part of Pointfive(.5), for being part of Hiwaily*2, or for being part of the Cu6ic gang.

amu has been uploading since mid-2008, and is one of the most well-known utaites in Nico Nico Douga. amu has a wide range, with the ability to hit high notes without sounding too strained, and the ability to sound like a female at times too. He can also sound like a cheeky young boy in some of his collabs. His voice can be compared to Tourai & Kogeinu; the smoother, higher-Tourai & the rougher, lower-Kogeinu.

amu can sing about every genres, branching from rock to ballads to pop. His most popular works like Boss Death & Scissorhands are although not the top cover, they are usually the top 5 in cover ranking. He also mixes most of his songs, and collabs with multiple singers like Kettaro & Beeeeige in Vana N' ice covers, So~ma, Riseha, Jigiru, etc. His main collab partner is miy though, who is also spotlighted this week.

He usually hosts his lives late at night, and sings or play PS3 games in them. In his singing namas, he usually sings his covers, occasionally with his acoustic guitar accompany, but he also sings L'Arc~en~Ciel and anisongs from time to time. In his game namas, he likes to play horrific/bloody games & RPGs. It's always fun to watch him play these games, as he makes some extra sound effects and comments to lighten up some of the more terrified viewers.

amu has been regularly taking part in doujin releases like Cu6ic with So~ma, Riseha, Shirokuro, jonyh & Reji, Hiwaily*2 with So~ma, Riseha, Mi-chan, Ren & Jigiru, and PolyphonicBranch. He has also been releasing originals and covers under Pointfive(.5) with Asamaru, Mi-chan, clear & Dasoku. During last year's Fukukomi, he has released his 1st mini album Mu, which is available for order at Three! and Animate.

Joining this fandom only late December last year, I actually first heard of amu & his voice from Pointfive(.5)'s Select Me. He was the one that caught my attention, aside from clear, and has been my favourite utaite since then. I always love how his covers can sound so smooth, how he can high & low he can sing, and how he curls his lyrics when he sings. I really like how he sings rock songs with using his high range, as it doesn't fail to give off a powerful impact, and how he sings upbeat songs and give off the jumpy feeling. Apologies for being late. I have no Internet at home and I just snuck!wrote this while I'm busy with work. I'll try my best to post Vocaran later or tomorrow, too. I'm sad that I don't get to flail much with the songs since I can't load Nico Nico Douga here at all so please ignore my lack of witty comments. There are a LOT of wonderful new songs this week, particularly in the top ten. There's also a gratuitous amount of crack and parodies. There is also a ton of tapir song covers XD. A couple of singers here in the ranking are more known in the namahousou part of NND and just crossed over here. Hope you enjoy them despite the boring writeup!

Today's week is interesting for two reasons: 1) there's a new CM meme people will cover over the next days; 2) There is quite a large number of covers of non-Vocaloid songs.

The CM I'm talking about is this one. If I'm not mistaken, this is an ad for a deodorant and the singing boy does not seem to have any connection to the product aside from the fact that he is cute. Of course, when covers come up, crack ensues. You do the discovering XD.

As mentioned in the past post, the utaran is now color-coded according to the colors in the Utaran video.

This is an interesting ranking, quite lively compared to the two previous ones. Surprisingly, I'm most interested in the top 10 new up ranking instead of the top 30. Still, the top 2 songs in the overall weekly can't be ignored. Still some Ochame lingering (seriously, Lon's is undefeated) and there's a new song people are starting to make mass covers of XD.

PointFive (.5) enhAnce CD

PUPI and SunaP just announced information about their CD: enhAnce which is performed by a group called PointFive (.5). PointFive is composed of Dasoku, Asamaru, Clear, Amu, Miichan and PUPI. You might notice, if you've listened to previous lives by Pupi, that this is the "DACAMP" secret he's been discussing for about a month now ;).

The website can be found here.

The CD will have 12 songs and will be a mixture of original songs composed by PUPI, SunaP and guest producers (Nem, 40mP and RenaissanceP). The cover art, if I'm not mistaken, was drawn by Aki Akane. The CD will be released July 07, 2010 at 2,625 yen. There is already an Amazon page for it :).
