Weekly Vocaloid Ranking # 205 (August 29 - September 5, 2011)

This week is Miku's birthday week, so you'll be expecting a lot of new Miku songs to honor her anniversary. You can find songs uploaded for her birthday under this tag.
Since it's Miku, the most popular Vocaloid, you might be expecting that this is a Miku-fied week. I am also surprised that it's not at all like that! Rin/Len has quite a few songs this week, both new and old from last ranking. Luka has some, too! And our top three this week aren't even Miku songs! Ok, I'll stop acting all suspenseful and get on with it ^^;.
↑# - the song moved up from a previous top 30 rank
↓# - song moved down from a previous top 30 rank
↵ - song is a re-entry to the top 30 rankings

Songs are arranged from 1-30.
01. Cyber Thunder Cider (VY1) - EZFG
- I've watched this before and was really hooked on it, but I didn't expect it would be number 1 this week! Amazing! I think it's because it's the first time VY1 was used in this kind of song (usually she sings traditional/pop songs), and the song is very catchy and fast and confusing and just...something you'll end up looping. Watch out for the dancing man in the PV. You'll know when you watch it XD.
02. Hello, Worker (Megurine Luka) - Eshi ja Nai KEI
- KEI's beats and melodies are always so simple yet his songs are so thought-provoking that you can't help but listen to them over and over (and feel bothered in a good way). This is one of them. The melody is okay, but has quite lovely guitar work. Luka is tuned a bit higher than usual but is okay.
03. DANCE FLOOR (GUMI) - buzzG
- ↑05
04. Hoshi no Uta (Hatsune Miku) - TokuP
- One of TokuP's beautiful ballads, imo. The rising beat at the chorus is just so grand and...climaxing. It's a wonderful listen.
05. Strobe Light (Hatsune Miku) - PowaPowaP
- I didn't expect this to be pop and cute since most of Powapowa's recent works were more of leaning towards ambient, but I had fun watching this :3.
06. Kyarirenren - Ponponpon full ver. (Kagamine Len) - GigaP
- This is a cover of that same idol song OrebananaP covered XD.
07. fix (Hatsune Miku Dark) - keeno
- ↓01
08. Corona (Kagamine Rin) - UtsuP
- An UtsuP song I can actually loop! The drumming GAH. It's destructively lovely. (Was that even a proper description??).
09. Alice in Musicland (Hatsune Miku, etc.) - OSTER Project
- ↑12
10. Arrow of Love (Hatsune Miku) - TokuP
- ↓06
11. 1925 -rearrange- (Megurine Luka) - OreginalP
- Ok. I love this. So. Much. Words cannot explain. Have you bought a copy of Vocajazz volume 1? The arrangement here is very much like the 1925 track in that album (also by OreginalP). She has such classy taste, imo. This arrangement is amazing. Just. ♥ . Ok I'll stop gushing now.
12. Tokyo Teddy Bear (Kagamine Rin) - Neru
- ↓02
13. Kimi to Mita Hoshizora (Megurine Luka) - Easypop
- ↓07 Title means "The Starry Sky I Watched With You".
14. Freely Tomorrow (Hatsune Miku) - Mitchie M.
- ↓11
15. Mine (Hatsune Miku) - Re:nG
- I was expecting a jazzy song when I first saw who composed the song, buuuut Re:nG's styles are so many, I'd learned not to expect anything and just be pleasantly surprised like this time! This is a slow pop song (not quite a ballad) with a very sassy beat (all those sounds! you should listen using headphones :3). Miku is really high as always with Renji-san's songs, but she still sounds good, surprisingly.
16. Hoshikuzu Stardust (Hatsune Miku) - Konjiji
- First time I'm hearing a song by this P. The rockish beat is okay and a bit catchy after a few listens, but I think Miku is tuned a bit too shrill for my ears.
17. Electric Star (GUMI) - HachioujiP
- As with all HachioujiP works, this is disco-house with heavy, pulsating beats against a high-pitched Miku. I like Lady Killer more but this doesn't pale in comparison at all.
18. K-On! x Hatsune Miku! Medley Musical MAD (Hatsune Miku) - Parking Brake Switch
- I'm a bit lost as to what this medley is, but then again I don't watch K-On! ^^;.
19. Natsu ni Sarishi Kimi wo Soufu (Hatsune Miku) - baker
- Not sure but I think the title means something like "Thoughts of You as Summer Fades". Catchy. Cute soft Miku voice. Jazzy beat. Most importantly, DANCING ALPACAS. Awesome.
20. Rarirurira (Kagamine Rin and Len) - koushirou
- Another brain-breaking, confusing but catchy song koushirou. Migi Hidari is just a tad better but this is entertaining as well.
21. LUST DOLL (Kagamine Rin) - AVTechNO!
- ↑30 Teehee <33.
22. Kanzensei Complex (Megurine Luka) - Yamikuro
- Title means "Integrity Complex". I don't really listen much to this P, but his piano is awesome! Luka's voice sounds a bit slurry, but it fits the aura of the song.
23. Miku Miku ni Shite Ageru (Hatsune Miku) - ika
- ↵ Happy 9 million views! Of course, this is resurrected in time for Miku's bday.
24. Monochrome Pastel (Hatsune Miku) - Don
- This is probably one of my favorite Don songs now. Loud guitar melodies, especially when blended with heavy drum beats, usually block Miku's voice and makes her muffled or drowned out. But her clarity still shines in this song and it's something I really find good. Her voice is also not shrill.
25. Candy Rocket (Hatsune Miku) - Yurin
- ↓10
26. Sputnik Shoujo Shounen (Kagamine Rin) - Captain Mirai
- Title means "Sputnik Girls and Boys". I appreciate Capt. Mirai's jazzy melodies a lot and despite this song being more pop-y, his jazz side still shows a bit XD. With that concept and PV, the song is quite cute, actually :3.
27. Ama no Jaku (GUMI) - 164
- ↓26 Title means "Heaven's Weakness". So strong!
28. Ai Kotoba (Hatsune Miku) - BellP
- BellP's latest is an upbeat alternative song with impressive echoey guitars and light, snappy drum beats. Miku's tuned pretty low but she doesn't sound rough at all.
29. Are You a Human? (GUMI) - Kotatsu x Hie x MitsubachiP
- This is a fast-phrased song along the lines of koushiro's, wowaka's and some of YM's songs. Text-intensive PV adds to the loopable quality of the song. Although GUMI sounds a bit hoarse here, she blends well with the catchy melody.
30. Shiryokukensa (GUMI) - 40mP
- ↓15 Title means "Eyesight Test".
