Producer Thursday: buzzG
I lost my list of producers and utaites to feature for the next few months so I'm picking randomly now OTL. However, I'm pretty excited to spotlight this producer because he has written some of my favorite GUMI songs. He's like my Vocarock GUMI producer ♥.

For those unfamiliar with producers and more on the utaite part of the fandom, you might recognize buzzG as the producer of Albino which was covered by Tourai a few months ago ^^.
buzzG uploaded his first work at the latter part of 2009. He used GUMI/Megpoid in his debut Vocaloid song last year. His songs are mostly rock or rock ballads, and he really abuses guitars and drums in each work. You might notice certain similarities in his songs, especially in the intros and choruses, as if he works on a core melody. However, he's really skilled in utilizing guitar melodies, be it bass, rhythm, etc. This dexterity makes each of his songs sound unique despite similarities.
buzzG has so far only used GUMI and Miku in his works. His tuning of Miku is so-so, sometimes she sounds good, sometimes she seems to not fit the song at all. However, his GUMI tuning is so well done. His first work gained a lot of attention because GUMi was said to sound "almost human" in it. In last year and in his other highly viewed work, Against, has GUMI singing in semi-low, whispery tunes. I like the fact that he can make GUMI still sound gentle and smooth in rock songs. His GUMI's like a more soft-spoken version of Nakashima Mika singing rock. Or Nina Persson in My Favourite Game. LOL.
buzzG will have an album entitled Rebellion on the Sunday released on May 9th. It will include all his works plus two more songs. You can view the cross fade demo here.

It's so clear that I'm biased towards buzzG's GUMI releases, but that's because I like GUMI singing Vocarock; she doesn't sound hard on the ears at all even if the guitars blare around her voice. Whenever someone asks me for either GUMI or Vocarock recoms, buzzG is always included in my list, especially AGAINST, last year and Akai Ame.
