Introduce Yourself Post.
Hello. This is the sort-of intro post for commenters/readers of ofurotaimu. Remember I said I welcome people to post pimp posts of their own? But I think I might've scared people off or something, idk, but it's not working LOL. So, this is like a replacement for it.
I talk a lot in the community (super lots) but I don't know much about you guys except for those times we flail around in the comments. And it's a bit lonely not knowing people, especially those who aren't registered in LJ or DW since I only know you by name (or worse, IP address, wtf). So, take this as a survey for me and other readers to know more about you and the things that make you happy :). Who knows, you might also meet people who have the same flail material as you do.
So, if you frequent this comm whether you use DW/LJ or none, please please fill this out. All fields are optional, don't answer some questions if you don't want to. I'd love to know everyone's favorites and how you got into the fandom :3. As for the favorites part, take it as your kind of "pimp post" for your favorites so feel free to include links and spazz and whatnot :D. It's your spotlight, so write whatever you want. Just remember, this is a public post which can be read by people everywhere even from Jupiter :D.

◕ how did you get into vocaloid? To be quite honest, I'm not really. They're really a means to an end for me: a means to hear talented composers, and eventually talented cover artists.
◕ how did you get into utattemita? I was watching various hand-drawn PVs, and one featured the Yamai/Tolie/Re:A/Sakura Utawa/Usa collaborative effort of Hitobashira Alice. Around the same time, I discovered the epic re-arranger/composer Hyadain. Never looked back. Actually, I'd say more credit should go to Hyadain; the whole one-person-plays-every-voice thing is a huge draw for me.
◕ first utaite/singer you ever encountered: Not sure if it was Hyadain or Yamai (the first vocal in Hitobashira Alice).
◕ first producer you ever encountered: Hyadain / IbitsuP (Hitobashira Alice). Of course, very soon I stumbled onto other hugely popular songs like the Story of Evil series (mothy), Cendrillon (SignalP), Romeo and Cinderella (doriko).
Favorites
◕ favorite vocaloids/UTAUs: Gakupo/Luka/Gumi, I suppose? They are newer and tend to sound better (which is why I can't understand the Miku love). It *does* depend on the user, though... A few songs, if there are no covers that stand out to me, I'll be somewhat inclined to allow the original Vocaloid version to make it onto my iPod. Hasn't happened yet, but some did make it to my iTunes library.
◕ favorite producers: Hyadain, mothy
◕ favorite solo singers/utaite: Sekihan (aside from him, I *hate* tiny-idol-voice), Hyadain, Nodoame... to a narcissistic extent, Re:A (her voice is very similar to mine)
◕ favorite singing units/collabs: AkaPikoHammer. I never, NEVER was a BL fangirl until I saw their live magnet. Heck, I liked their studio magnet but not even that much until I saw the live.
◕ favorite artists from other yattemita stuff (dancers/musicians, etc): Zim (guitarist)

I am in the midst of deciding which covers of Panda Hero should go into my iPod. Front-runners are Mi-chan, Touyu, and Machigerita, but I'm holding onto 10 mp3's right now...
I'm also working on deciding on 1925, Deathwish, and Mrs Pumpkin's Comical Dream. I have one of each on my iPod already, but all 3 songs have a number of fantastic covers... I'd say the latter is hardest. Many amazing covers, but I can't put all of them in my iPod. I've already got Sekihan's version (25 seconds of epic win beginning 2:47), but I can't seem to name a victor among the rest...
Well, this has always been my problem. Maybe I'll buy a full-size iPod next time and start chucking all covers into the new one.
