Producer Spotlight: Ryuryu / BinyuP

BinyuP or simply ryuryu is a very productive composer who have been uploading his works in Nico Nico Douga since 2008 and is still continuing to the present. However, he is not very popular compared to other producers, which I think is sad because his works are probably the loveliest I've ever heard in this type of genre (that I do not know the name of).
Ryuryu's music is hard to describe. I want to say each song has its own world, like with Vocalotus/BungaP's works, but despite their "uniqueness", you can feel a common element in all of them. What would that be? The word that comes up when I think of adjectives is "sentimental", but that doesn't completely describe ryuryu's music. His initial works are more towards pop, with relaxing but cute, upbeat melodies. Then, his music evolved slowly towards ambient, electronica and post-rock. Each song is unique as every one of them tells a story, the beats matching the theme declared in the song title. For example in "Tachycardia", there is a subtle irregular beating likened to heartbeats. He always uses Miku, which he had learned to tune impeccably well.

Most of the time, I learn of producers when I stumble upon their works in NND. With ryuryu, however, I first listened to his albums before I went on to his NND works. I bought his two albums, "ephemera" and "Homeland" and instantly fell in love with his type of music, even if I haven't heard from him before (sadly). Nope, I won't admit the science terms reeled me in, no XD;. What I like most about his works is the charming, music-box like intro reminiscent of some of HoehoeP's works and the way his melody escalates into a hymn-like melody at the choruses. If you prefer Vocaloid songs different from the usual pop, rock, etc. I highly suggest you give his songs a listen!
