Happy 2nd Anniversary Clewota! (translation)

Since some people were anticipating this, here it is, a CLEWOTA post to commemorate their 2 years of being a unit. There are a lot of other units out there but since I am very, very biased, I am only making a post about them :).

I won't introduce each person since I already had some sort of post about them before. You can view clear's spotlight here and a translation of wotamin's ameblo profile here.

A small intro since it was included in their discussion in a radio show. Wotamin got into Nico Nico Douga while she was browsing Youtube XD;. She was in YT when she saw a cover of "Kumikyoku no Nico Nico Douga" and was amused by it. She visited NND and its utattemita section and wondered how it would be if she uploaded her own songs. In the meantime, clear already knows of Nico Nico Douga but is a stranger to the utattemita section (since he visits only those MAD/parody vids ^^;). One day, a friend directed him to the category and he viewed some of the videos. He became interested in Hatsune Miku and decided to stick around and explore. The first utattemita song he heard was a collaboration involving Utawa Sakura. Eventually, he was inspired to do covers of his own.

Even though clewota's first song was uploaded July 25, 2008, they have known each other a few months before they recorded a collab. Their first meeting was actually initiated by wotamin. She was looking for songs she wanted to sing in Nico Nico Douga, one of them "lost my music". Somehow, she stumbled upon clear's cover of the song. She found his voice really nice, but she also realized his mixing was a bit off. As she was learning mixing herself, she decided to comment and ask if it was okay to mix for clear. A few days after, clear has left for her his email address where they would correspond with each other...and it had been like that ever since. Clear said that if wotamin hadn't found his song then, he would forever have that sucky mixing (I don't think so, clear, but it's amusing nonetheless XD).



Clear's "pantsu ouji" (panty prince) and "pantsu kaichou" (panty president) had their origins in Clewota, since the nicknames appeared after clear and wotamin's cover of ggrks where clear had to do the lines "What color are you panties? Are you even wearing them?". Intensifying it was the conversation they had in their first airing of Clewota Radio (2009).

Clear: Someone is asking..."what color are your undies?"
Wotamin: LOL! FFFFF
Clear: So, panties? So this question is for wotamin...
Wotamin: Not me! Why me?
Clear: Oh, okay, it's for clear-san, then.
Wotamin: ....
Clear: I'm wearing black :D
Wotamin: W-what? Why did you have to answer so casually!
Clear: But they asked for it...oh, it has gray borders, too.
Wotamin: Those are things I really didn't want to know!!
Clear: Sorry XDD
Wotamin: ...... /lol-ing
Clear: So it's only me answering huh... it can't be helped. Wotam--wotamin, you're not wearing an---never mind.

Clewota had very good chemistry and was quite popular even when they were just newly paired up, that even other singers like Remyuu, Tonpo, Dasoku, Valshe, Koman, Ritsuka, Yamai (who Wotamin loves), Aki Akane and Nodoame listen to their radio shows. Even producers like DeadballP listen in to them sometimes.

Unfortunately for us fans, Clear and Wotamin has probably not met each other IRL. There were some people asking Clear if he has ever dated Wotamin (since he seems to be always dating Daso(ry /dies a horrible death) but he said he hasn't even met her...even though he heard she is very cute. Wotamin, meanwhile, has met Dasoku and Valshe, but admitted to only seeing Clear in his namahousou although she thinks he's an ikemen.

Mmmm I don't know of any more announcements from clear's album, so far there's only Dasoku and Nero in the lineup although the info said "and more collabs". I would be very thrilled if wotamin would do a duet with him! Although, I think the problem is more on wotamin's side. She's very, very shy and refuses to make an appearance anywhere (note she doesn't have any involvement in any major albums). She is thinks her voice is not at par with most singers, that's how low her self-confidence is ^^;. Although I'm glad she's able to come this far on her own and gain popularity as a soloist :3.

OH MAI GOSH WOTAMIN, YOU'RE SO ADORABLEEEEEEEEE~ She's so shy though :\, always forcing clear to answer everything (lol.)! But I love Wotamin's voice so much! I think she's just really self-conscious because her range isn't crazy (Valshe/Kanipan's boy voices orz, or people who can go super-high lawl)

Her voice is just cool on it's own, and she has good control too ^w^. I love how she represents that people (like me) with somewhat restricted ranges can still be good singers! Ah, but still, she's so adorable (like in the Dasoku radio show from last year, her reaction to Valshe, uwaa!).

That people should really urge them to get together, like with those 2channers (Dixie Flatline even composed a song for them, lucky ducks.)

Wotamin is really such a shy girl. So much that she doesn't like posting pictures of herself ;_;. I hope she'll just have more confidence with her singing because despite her no-so-broad range (like you said), she definitely sings way better than some people ^^. I don't know if it's an inferiority complex, but you might notice she sings a lot, but does not upload them to Nico Nico Douga, mostly bec. she's scared she hasn't done justice to the songs orz. Buuuut I guess shyness is part of her charm? :D

Actually, they had a namahousou this year, too, and Clear was forcing Wotamin to meet with him but she didn't want to ^^;. I think she has only met around 3-4 people from Nico.
