Weekly Vocaran #182 (03/21 - 03/28, 2011)

Weekly Vocaloid Ranking # 182 (March 21-28, 2011)

Due to insistent public demand, I'm continuing the Vocaran writeups as well as posting writeups of the four rankings I missed for completeness' sake. Thank you to everyone who had commented with their thoughts! It's a bit busy for me as always, but Vocaran is a bit easier to write than Utaran and I'll try my best to be as updated as possible.

There is slightly a problem though. Since sippotan is not yet back, Iori, who does the monthly Vocaloid rankings, is still doing the data publication for the Weekly Vocaran. The schedule of the posting slightly changed and I can't catch yet what day Iori uploads the ranking, but I'll try my best to stalk look his uploads as often as possible so I won't be late.

You might notice in the beginning notes of the Vocaran (as well as in sippotan's last Vocaran upload #179). Because Sippotan's house was damaged by the earthquake, he is still unable to upload the rankings (his house is half-destroyed, but his computer and other stuff are safe, though). The monthly ranking is affected by this because they get their data from the Weekly Ranking. So right now, Iori compensates by doing the data compilation himself and publishing it for the fans. He is still doing the Monthly Ranking, too. Some changes include the less flashy video (no wide-screen), the computation is shown in more detail, and other small things. But the concept itself is, of course, just the same.

This is a past ranking, so I'm just listing everything with minimal comments. Sorry!

02. Meteor (Hatsune Miku) - Jon

03. Harenochi Sakura (GUMI) - 40mP
- The title means "Sakura After Clear Skies". There has been a slight issue on this song because it's said to sound very similar to Beginner by Spitz and some special people were accusing 40mP of plagiarism. However, 40mP reiterates that while there are similarities in the song, he composed the entirety of the GUMI song by himself and stands by it proudly. But as a result of the issue, this song was pulled out from EXIT TUNES Supernova 5 and 40mP will create a new song for the album.
