Weekly Vocaloid Ranking # 193 (June 05-13, 2011)
Apologies for being a tad late, I'm having some translation woes unrelated to Vocaran last night so I wasn't able to post this more quickly. My comments this week are also kind of pointless because I'm still braindead from all the translation I did yesterday and today.
Anyway, this week's ranking has a lot of the old stuff from last week, which means very low number of new stuff. Still, the new stuff have taken over the top part of the ranking so I guess it's not such a bad week :).

Songs are arranged from 1-30.
01. Usotsuki no Sekai (Hatsune Miku) - scop
- Title means "A World of Lies". Probably one of scop's most successful works, this is a rock song with a beautifully poignant intro escalating into a full guitar and drums song. Scop's Miku is still the same, with slight lilts at the ends of her lines, and his piano melody is still awesome, but the dominant drums and guitars in this song is a nice change from his jazz piano melodies earlier.
02. Watashi no Sekai (Hatsune Miku) - KuchibashiP
- Another world-themed song, with a very grand intro if I might say. The melody sounds very old school, reminiscent of earlier Vocaloid works (the ones you play in Project Diva XD), and it's a nice change from all the other songs in this ranking.
03. Yuuyami no Satsume Uta (MEIKO) - Kiraboshi Hikaru
- ↑12 Title means "Twilight Killing Song".
04. Ama no Jaku (GUMI) - 164
- ↓01 Title means "Heaven's Weakness".
05. KiLLER LADY (GUMI) - HachioujiP
- This is the first time I've heard Hachiouji's GUMI and I can say she's more impressive than Hachiouji's earlier Miku. She sounds so deep but clearer and has less tone dives. The beat is typical of HachioujiP's: damn catchy.
06. Sayonara One-Way Heart (Hatsune Miku) - daniwellP
- Oh no, earworm!
07. Chaotic Universe -full version (Hatsune Miku) - daniwellP
- Oh no, even more earworm fff
08. Kawaranai Basho (Hatsune Miku) - ArieP
- Title means "Unchanging Place". The rhythm feels familiar to me. This is a rock ballad with high-pitched Miku on vocals, just like ArieP's other works. This one's just a little gentle, with sloping sounds instead of rough drums and guitars.
09. Sekai no Hajimari (Hatsune Miku Append) - whoo
- ↑20 Title means "The Beginning of the World".
10. Do-M (Hatsune Miku) - BuriruP
- ↑16
11. Garasu no Hana (VY2) - MachigeritaP
- Title means "Glass Flower". VY2!! Someone is so fast! He sounds like a cross between Len and Gakupo here, but nevertheless he sounds awesome.
12. Kudryavka (Hatsune Miku) - YajirushiP (←P)
- This is a rather adorable ballad with a wonderful mix of guitars, bass and drums in the background. This song reminds me of Nekomushi, but it could be just because of Miku's tuning.
13. Astronauts (Hatsune Miku) - PowapowaP
- ↓02
14. Goban Me no Pierrot (Kagamine Len) - AkunoP
- ↓04 Title means "The Fifth Clown".
15. milky way (Megurine Luka) - Emon(tes.)
- Emon's Luka is so lovely, coupled with a wonderful electronic pop melody. She sounds a bit shaky and too deep at times, but she fits the melody so well.
16. Chameleon (Hatsune Miku Sweet) - Nana
- ↓11
17. Saiaku no Carnival (Kagamine Rin) - LiveP
- ↓06 Title means "The Worst Carnival".
18. Unhappy Refrain (Hatsune Miku) - wowaka
- keep
19. Sakura Uta (GUMI) - vatako
- ↑29
20. Usotsuki (Hatsune Miku) - Tsunamaru
- Title means "Liar". This song tends to be a bit repetitive, which makes the melody dangerously catchy.
21. Umbrella (Hatsune Miku) - YuniP
- Typical YuniP poprock with adorable-sounding Miku in vocals.
22. Hyakunen no Ai (Hatsune Miku) - Rerulili
- Title means "One Hundred Years of Love". This is so cheesy and beautiful and just so so gentle.
23. Houshaku-kei Danshi (Kagamine Len - koushirou
- Title means "A Young Man's Way to Gluttony". Koushirou uses his fast-paced, wowaka-ish beat here, too, just like in Migi Hidari.
24. Mekakushi Cord (Hatsune Miku) - Jin
- ↑30
25. Kizumono Labyrinth (Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Rin) - NekomushiP
- Title means "Defective Labyrinth". A bit of yuri-ness in the song plus a questionable title with double meanings, this is a rather upbeat song rare of NEkomushi. Not to mention he used Rin! His Miku still sounds adorable, still, though.
26. Matryoshka (Hatsune Miku x GUMI) - hachi
- ↓19
27. Mozaik Role (GUMI) - DECO*27
- ↑28
28. Prototype (Lily) - niki
- Niki's latest work is similar to his old stuff, electronica with a splash of emo-ness in a rock ballad.
29. Hiatus (Hatsune Miku) - mstkP
- ↓03
30. Kimi omoi, Kataomoi (GUMI) - Takanon
- Title means "Thoughts of you, Unrequited Love". Quite a happy-sounding pop song despite the message of the song. Very fast lyrics, too!
Pickup: Odango desu ne (Megurine Luka) - DanierukunP
ED: Sleeping Beauty (VY1) - T.H.
