Producer Spotlight: rlboro

rlboro

mylist | piapro

Rlboro started upping his works in Nico Nico Douga sometime in 2009 and while not as active as most producer, is quite known for the high quality of his works. His name is taken from his favorite cigarette brand. He had more songs in the past from 2009 but he has deleted them for unknown reasons. His hit song "I" used to have more than 100k views before he deleted it. When it was reuploaded it gained about 40k views.

His songs are categorized as rock, ballad, and pop, with the guitars especially sharp and echoey. This makes his songs disctinctly in his style no matter what genre he composes. Most of his songs are upbeat and cheery-sounding rockish songs but he has also delved into doing rock ballads. Aside from his own works, he also did remixes of songs and has not kept to just rock arrangements but also jazz and other styles.

Rlboro uses only Miku in his works. His Miku is tuned high and crisp, with sharp peak notes which surprisingly does not sound shrill despite the tone. Because of the nature of his music, his Miku's often loud and echoey, which makes her sing clearly against his guitars.

He doesn't have his own album, but rlboro has participated in some compilations, including "Innovator-gaku".

I haven't checked rlboro's mylist in a while so I was sad to see that some of his songs are erased :(. I especially liked his "I" and "One for me". I'm a sucker for guitars in songs so his songs have always been special to me, especially my favorites. It's sad that he has only uploaded a new song so I hope he'll be more active soon.

AH! TARARURA* was one of the first couple songs that I absolutely loved to death, with its music box intro, the tuning of Miku and that great guitar, I could never get tired of it. I am a bit sad that there aren't really alot of great Utattemita versions of this song, as its not super popular... but I really do hope I see another song coming from him!
