This month's Indies ranking has a lot of returning songs, which is really a surprise. However, maybe you can take this time to be acquainted with some popular VocaloP's and utaite's indie works! There are a lot of impressive prog/post rock and instrumental ups this month, too, so if you like those styles, please don't miss this ranking!

• Kiriu is a well-rounded composer who has tried his hand at a lot of things including Electronica, Funk, Ethnic/Folk, Breakcore, and Artcore. After his rather interesting artcore attempt, Kiriu comes back with an electronica track influenced with ambient/slightly atmospheric rhythms.

• This is a post rock track although I think it is more of a fusion between postrock and rough electronica. There's a hypnotic wew-ing sound all throughout the song but minus that, the strong guitars is quite impressive.

03. peakedyellow - 聖者の行進

• Peakedyellow is also a Vocaloid producer, although they seem to be more known for their original works. They have worked with utaite POPPY in an indie track and have also released an album "Story Telling". This track is a strong rock melody coupled with snappy drums and sharp, though muffled, guitars. The gruff vocals is quite good, too and fits the song well.

04. ぼくの頭の中の水槽 / colobs

• Colobs is a band composed of Masakado Hayabusa on vocals/guitar, D.D. on keyboards, and Kazuhiro Kaneko on drums.They mostly produce electropop/electrorock songs with a taste of folk music. This is mostly a folk-ish melody with very minimal electronic beats.

05. オリジナル曲「Wizard」

• This jazz-inspired number has impressive wind instrument melody molded against soft, piano music. Very straightforward, but the sax playing is really a must-hear.

06. peakedyellow - ペンギン・サーカス(ver.peakedyellow)

• Peakedyellow is also a Vocaloid producer, although they seem to be more known for their original works. They have worked with utaite POPPY in an indie track and have also released an album "Story Telling". This track seems like a cross between progressive rock and just plain old rock, the melody has a distinct progrock influence but the singing and guitar playing themselves are mostly softened in nature.

• This is an electronica number with beautifully delicate piano music. The beats might sound a bit steely against the piano melody but it's worth a listen.

• FL Studio specializes in Touhou arrangements, but although rarely, they also participate in composing original works. This original composition doesn't differ much from their Touhou rearrangements, with smooth electronic beats fused with folk and rockish melodies, creating a fantasy-like aura to the song.

• This one has, well, a rather nsfw theme, with game-like music and snappy drums.

• This is a cover of the instrumental by Figu. KazkunP laid out the lyrics and sang the song as well. KazkunP is also a Vocaloid producer known for his songs like Uta wo Kikasete and Refrain Loop.

The drums and other beats are also nice, but the highlight of the song is definitely the awesome guitar-playing.

Their songs often vividly pictures fantasy, boundary-less worlds riddled with pragmatic sentiments. Their songs are often electronica and ambient bordering on progressive rock. This track is no different and has erratic but wonderfully layered ambient melody.
