ofurotaimu | Weekly Vocaloid Ranking # 255 (08/13

This week is pretty normal in terms of the ratio of new stuff and old retains. What's interesting in this ranking, however, is the number of Ps who have uploaded songs which are quite different from their usual genre/arrangements. It's quite a treat listening to the new songs and being surprised at the pleasant changes within some producers' works. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did XD.

• Title means "1, 2 Fanclub". This might be a reference to the game "Yie Ar Kung-fu" although I can't be sure. This is so freaking catchy fffffff. This is also the first time I've seen MikitoP write such a song, and it's a wonderful change. I haven't read the lyrics yet but it has a lot of wordplay in it, apparently XD;. Anyway, pandas.

02. 【GUMI】夏の終わり、恋の始まり【オリジナル曲PV付】

• Title means "End of Summer, Start of Love". What amazes me with this song is how different it sounds from most of Scop's songs. Usually, Scop has a certain quirk in melody-making so his works are similar, but this one is a blatant rock song with a pretty piano and bass melody that is such a whole new feel for me. I think it's beautiful.

• Title means "Heavenly Fox". Marasy's newest is a wonderful rockish song with a traditional Japanese feel. I love the piano + flute intro so much! The PV is also amazing.

• Jin's newest is not an angry rock song, rather it's a wonderful ensemble of orchestraic music, guitars, and Miku's voice which has apparently become more solid than in his previous works. The violins are a nice touch.

• I'm not sure how this is romanized. It can be "Lugelda" or "Rougelda", or something else. It's been a while since we heard from KulfiQ and he returns with a sweet-sounding light rock song with a very breezy melody (and PV!) and gentle vocals. It's very nice.

• Title means "Rain and Wolf". This is a catchy song although it may seem it's a little lacking in melody (you can mostly hear just percussion with Miku's voice at first) but it rises into a rock song in the chorus. Despite that, I think it's an interesting composition.

• This is a sharp electronic track with rough beats sliding through the melody. It's a bit hard to listen to at first, but the chorus is reminiscent of many electrorock songs we've heard recently.
