[Weekly Shiny] New Stuff
I decided to do this listing of new things weekly, so I'll have a lot of time to scan NND and pick things up. I don't know if anyone wants to read about new ups in Nico, though, since I'm mostly going to post about new people or unknown people, etc. Let me know if you want to keep this weekly thing :D.
Anyway, my criteria for listing new covers (5 or more each week?) are: number of views, number of comments, song bias (yeah, I'm sorry orz) and of course, if I like the rendition. I'll also list the usual suspects when they have new songs. For now, there are no uploads from the usual people so I chose some of the lesser-known ones (and some).
Links on the names lead to the videos @ nicovid. You can also input the URL in nicosound for sound-only.
アナザー：ロミオとシンデレラを歌ってみた 【あるま】 (Arumu - Another: Romeo to Cinderella)
I don't know anything about Arumu and I have no idea if he's a regular or a new guy. His rendition of this song is a bit shaky. The tone is a bit off at times. However, I like this cover because his voice sounds so cool (/shallow) XD. His voice reminds me of a gentler Tolie somehow. If this is his first time singing a Vocaloid cover, I must say he's doing well.
ACUTE歌ってみた【紅×ナナメ×4c0】 (Kurenai x Naname x 4c0 - Acute)
Acute is originally sung by KAITO, Miku and Luka. It was just released recently by Kurousa-P, who is known for other works like Cantarella and Saihate. This cover is really well-made, IMO. The male voice sounds a bit off but it's still good.
感動して「Lost Story」を歌ッテミタ。らむだーじゃん (Rumdarjun - Lost Story)
Lost Story was originally sung by Hatsune Miku. I've liked Rundarjun's cover in the Summer 2009 album so I was expecting this one to be good as well. The cover is...hm, shall we say normal? But it's nice nonetheless.
【セルフ】Alice 【うたってみた】 (FurukawaP - ALICE [self cover])
Alice is written by Furukawa-P and was released last August 07, 2009. He made this cover of his own song XD. Instead of the music, he plays the guitar and instead of showing the Miku fanart in the original video, he shows pictures of his cat XDD.
La Fiestaを歌ってみました。【ちゅちゅ】 (Chuchu - La Fiesta)
La Fiesta is a Kagamine Rin song uploaded just a few days ago. It's composed by highschooler Lelele-P who also composed Ike Lenka and the rest of the Lenka songs. I loved the original version so I was waiting for a good rendition of this. The first and only cover (at the moment) of this song did not disappoint. Chuchu's voice is really gentle and not shrilly. There are some awkward lines but they're negligible, I think. :).
That's it. I'll post more next week if people want this to continue :3.
