[Info] Basics on Vocaloid and Utattemita + Links
Note: Very, very basic info :3.
VOCALOID
Vocaloid is a software that synthesizes lyrics to a melody. Basically, one composes music using a separate program. Then a MIDI file or the notes and tempo themselves are input into the VOCALOID program. The Vocaloid will then "sing" the words and they can be adjusted according to the composer's liking.
There are different voice banks for each release of Vocaloid software. Aside from the official Japanese releases (Meiko, Kaito, Miku, Rin/Len, Luka, Gackpoid and Megpoid), there are also the USA releases as well as the fanmade ones (UTAU). You can read more about them here.
NICONICO DOUGA UTATTEMITA
Utattemita is a category in Nico Nico Douga wherein people upload their own renditions/covers of songs, whether they are Vocaloid, anime or J-pop songs. Some of these people do lives, release doujin CDs (released in conventions) or go professional (Gazelle => nagi). Some of these amateur singers have received popularity enough to have communities (mixi, nico) and radio shows.

Hm. Namahousou are generally unscheduled, unless you are after Asamakku or wotamin's nama, since they both hold them ~daily~ XD. If there are big events, let's say a birthday nama, they'll announce it in twitter or their blogs beforehand, but other than that, there is no way to know when most of them broadcast, unless you are a member of their Nico community and you have the alert thingy on. I want to elaborate that on an entry later on, please look forward to it? ^^;
As for MP3s, they are very rare. Before, wotamin, Anima and Dasoku used to record their shows and share them in their blogs/communities, but now it's kind of rare :(. As for clear, I don't know where you'll be able to get them since 1) he doesn't do lives regularly, 2) he doesn't record his lives and 3) he doesn't timeshift his live (more on that later).

(After spending 2.5 hrs listening to ramblings of people drunk off their arses (excluding the ever charming Kansai Branch) I asked myself wtf it this I was listening to and where can I get more of this XP)
You wouldn't happen to have these old recordings of Dasoku's namahousou, right?
I am still interested in this whole niconama thing though, so if you'd ever make a post for it I'd be much grateful.
Why can't I just stick to listening to JE boys' radios instead? XDD
