Weekly Vocaran #179 (02/28-03/07, 2011)
Weekly Vocaloid Ranking #179 (February 28 - March 07, 2011)
Not that many new songs this week and most of the rankings are just movements of those from the previous ranking. However, I hope you won't skip this one because despite the few new stuff, most of the songs are from Ps you don't hear from often or you might have never even heard of before.
↑# - the song moved up from a previous top 30 rank
↓# - song moved down from a previous top 30 rank
↵ - song is a re-entry to the top 30 rankings

Songs are arranged from 1-30.
01. Mr. Music (collab) - Rerulili et. al.
- This is a collaboration involving a ton of producers and Vocaloids. This upbeat song is composed by Rerulili with help from Pepe and KagomeP. Then, each Vocaloid is tuned perfectly by producers who are experts in using them: Rerulili for Hatsune Miku, Kihee for Megurine Luka, LiveP for Kagamine Rin, OwataP for Kagamine Len, Baker for Miku Append, Nem for GUMI and KagomeP for Kaai Yuki, TokuP also lent a hand with a wonderful piano solo at the middle of the song. The result is a catchy song meant to be a hit. I find it interesting that it's so obvious who tuned which Vocaloid, especially with Rin, GUMI and Miku XD. There is also an utattemita version of this song, which is number 1 in the Weekly Utaran. I have also translated/color-coded the lyrics of this song here
02. Kiritorisen (GUMI) - 40mP
- Title translates to "Cut Off Part".
- ↓01
03. O New no Kasabuta, Pet ni Kuwarero (GUMI) - UramanbouP
- Title translates to "New Scab, Eaten by Pet". I don't get the song, but it's chiptune-ish but so much more. Why does it sounds creepy LOL. The lyrics, like Wowaka's and some of koushirou's songs, are godly-fast, especially at the chorus.
04. Negai Goto (Hatsune Miku) - FuwariP
- ↑10 Title translates to "Wish". GAH I LOVE THIS SO MUCH.
05. Otonoko Memorable (Kagamine Len) - Satsuki ga Tenkomori
- Title translates to "Memorable Boy". Uh. Another puzzling song from Tenkomori (he makes me so confused LOL). Shotabait!Len alert complete with a catchy rhythm which is Tenkomori's signature.
06. Panda Hero (GUMI) - hachi
- ↑06 Holy crap.
07. Koori no Naka ni (Megurine Luka) - IyaiyaP
- Title translates to "Within the Ice". I love this because of the "freezing" like effect, like Luka's voice is echoing from inside or under the ice. The melody is actually simple, the tuning makes it awesome.
08. Symphony (Hatsune Miku) - buzzG
- ↵63 Wow.
09. Romanshugi (Megurine Luka) - Asin Kuroda
- Title translates to "Romanticism". First time hearing of this P, but this work of his is a classy piece of melody, kind of jazzy but more of a ballad.
10. Matryoshka (Hatsune Miku x GUMI) - Hachi
- ↑16
11. Rimokon (Kagamine Rin and Len) - Wonderful Opportunity
- ↓06
12. Boku wo Sonna Me de Minaide (Hatsune Miku) - Kikuo
- ↓02 Title translates to "Please Do Not Look at Me With Those Eyes".
13. Juu Mensou (GUMI) - YM
- ↓11 Title translates to "Ten Faces".
14. Disrare-ya (GUMI) - RecruitP
- ↓13
15. Mozaik Role (GUMI) - DECO*27
- ↑21
16. Hachimitsu Honey (GUMI) - papiyon
- ↓02 Title translates to "Honey, Honey".
17, Hanabi Sora (Kagamine Rin x Hatsune Miku) - KulfiQ
- ↓05 Title translates to "Firework Sky".
18. Cinderella Syndrome (Kagamine Rin) - Karasuyasabou
- ↓04
19. Tabiji no Hate, Sora no Doukoku (KAITO) - ShigotoshiteP
- Title translates to "The Laments of the Sky at the End of the Journey". Another Celtic/folk-inspired song by Shigotoshite with his ever-improving Kaito not missing even the high bits.
20. Sotsugyou - Mata Au Hi Made- (GUMI) - KK2
- Title translates to "Graduation - Until the Day We Meet Again- ". It's typical that we have a graduation song around this time. This is a rock-ish but dramatic song and GUMI's voice fits right in.
21. Wine Berry (Hatsune Miku x GUMI) - Ran
- ↓14
22. Setsuren (Hatsune Miku) - Hi-ton
- Title translates to "Snow Love". A beautiful but sad song which makes use of long notes, making Miku's voice ring throughou the song, paired with guitars.
23. Badbye (Hatsune Miku) - Koman
- ↓18
24. Himawari (Hatsune Miku) - XenonP)
- Title translates to "Sunflower". Such a grandiose melody as expected of XenonP (who made Hayabusa). Of course, the theme is still space-y XD.
25. Tweet Paradise (Hatsune Miku) - Kyouinu
- Typical hypnotic, repetitive pop song that might get you hooked if you're not careful XD.
26. Alone (Kagamine Rin) - Morishita Ryou
- I don't know what the song reminds me of but it sounds oddly familiar. Anyway, this is a song quite different from what you recently keep hearing, from the theme to the melody to the PV. The song seems bordering into fantasy rock with supernatural elements.
27. Usubeni no Hana ga Chiru Sora ni (Hatsune Miku) - Kagura
- Title translates to "In the Sky where Light Pink Blossoms Fall". I haven't heard of this P before, but s/he has done a good job. This is an upbeat song laced with traditional Japanese beats coupled with Miku's remarkable tuning.
28. Kokoro Shinryaku (Kagamine Rin and Len) - Hinata Haruhana
- Title translates to "Heart Invasion". Hinata is back with another Rin/Len song that has a cute melody but rather questionable lyrics. This one SEEMS a bit cheerful than most of her works, although she is known for making songs with upbeat melodies and sad lyrics.
29. Heart Shooter (Hatsune Miku) - Chiba Kenichi
- This is an upbeat electropop song reminscent of Easypop and earlier Hachiouji songs. However the beats seem less sharper. The vocals are a bit shaky, but it fits the rhythm of the song.
30. Yowamushi Montblanc (GUMI) - DECO*27
- keep
pickup
• Torikago no Naka no Maria (Kagamine Rin) - muhmue
• Shinyuu he (Hatsune Miku x GUMI) - GedouP

2. Shinitagari (Hatsune Miku) - Nashimotowe

5. Tsugihagi Sandoku (Hatsune Miku) - MachigeritaP
