community LiveP is prolific and impressively popular Vocaloid producer, particularly renowned for his songs using Kagamine Rin. You might have known him from the recent hits
m9 and
Mylist Dame!. He is also a member of Live Family, a group of Vocaloid producers and artists, with YuchaP, YajirushiP, DevilishP, OnewP, KuwagataP, etc.
LiveP started uploading his Vocaloid compositions sometime in 2009, although he had been a long-time fan of the Vocaloids as well as his fellow producers. Aside from original songs, he also made covers of popular Vocaloid songs, like HoehoeP's
Nee and Ecomaru's
Tokyo-to Rock City. His P name was coined by ErogewotaP and was first used as a pet name which eventually became his permanent P name. His name is pronounced "live" as in live performances, although they say it can also mean "live" as in survive, which symbolizes how far he's going to make Vocaloids sound "alive".
His music style is always of these two: pop ballads with a mixture of piano, violins, chimes and subtle electric guitars, especially in his earlier works; or rock with very strong sharp guitars, snappy drums, overall loud music but not strong enough to be hard on the ears. He had tried sugary pop which sounds like cute video game BGMs at one point, although a majority of his works are into upbeat rock melodies and emotional slow songs.
As I said in the premise, LiveP is known for his very interesting tuning of Kagamine Rin. Rin originally has a very sharp voice, spiking especially at high parts. LiveP uses it to the fullest, letting her sing solidly rarely with autotune or other manipulation. He's not afraid to make Rin pronounce every single syllable perfectly and take the risk of making her sing very high. Surprisingly, his Rin never falters at high notes and doesn't even sound squeaky or shrill. His Rin is also known for being "emotional", trilling her R's when mad, drawling in long notes when sad, etc. He always uses Rin, only composing a song or two for Miku, Miki and recently, GUMI.
His works are in popular collab CDs like EXIT TUNES Presents GUMIsm and Vocalonexus, Howring, Innovator, and Kagamination.
Aside from making Vocaloid music, LiveP also sings covers of his and other VocaloidP's works. He is known for having a powerful, deep voice perfect for rock and similar melodies.

nikki saysI've known about LiveP's works since he uploaded Renraku Mada, but since I'm not very fond of Rin back then, I overlooked his works. And then they uploaded Hikarizakura and while Rin is still not my favorite Vocaloid, I make it a point to listen to his Rin. He's one of the very few Rin producers that I listen to. I prefer his ballads more than his rock songs because they tend to be very emotional at the choruses. My favorite of his works so far is "Cold Hand".
