kaoling, who first named herself as "kaoling koto deita", started uploading her works in Nico Nico Douga January of 2010 and remains satisfactorily active at present. Aside from Vocaloid works, she also covers a few songs and does some mixing for other songs/covers.
kaoling's works are inspired by Celtic, ethnic/traditional and trance-new age music, which is why all of them sound surreal and magical. Her melodies are always rich because of the influx of various instruments she uses. Her works are a bit near to BungaP's/Vocalotus' works except that BungaP uses approaches closer to Japanese traditional music while kaoling's works sound closer to Irish/Celtic folk songs. Despite that, her works are mostly centered on Japanese themes.
She uses solely Hatsune Miku for her works, who she tunes impeccably. Her tuning is not as clear or flawless as most seasoned producers, but she uses Miku's voice to the fullest to fit her songs. Multiple background vocals, echoes, alternating low and high chant-like voices, breaths, etc. - she uses Miku in a special way apart from other producers. Think of KAITO in ShinjoP's works.
kaoling also occasionally sings and has sung a cover of her own song as well as one of another producer's. I must say she also sounds wonderful in her type of music.

nikki saysI have truly fallen in love with kaoling's songs since I heard Memoria, mostly because I love Celtic/ethnic/traditional music very much. She does it so well from the intruments used to the lyrics to Miku's tuning. I especially love how her songs sound alike yet they have different instruments used for them. The vast range of melodies you can hear in her songs makes her songs loopable. The details she puts in the songs as well as the expertise in making all of them sound wonderful is really impressive.
With her type of music, it might seem that her works are impossible to cover. But actually, a few people have wonderfully covered her works including Lilie and Re:.
