Sequel/Kichiku ShotaP (鬼畜ショタP)

mylist | piapro |

Sequel started debuted as a Vocaloid producer in 2008 with his upload "Shirogane". After his first upload, he uploaded the same song for four times with various revisions (finetuning?). He is said to have participated in Comiket (CDs?) under the advice from livetune. His name Sequel came from the animation he employs. His P name Kichiku ShotaP actually came from his namahousou listeners and is considered one of the few Ps whose P name was decided upon by his nama listeners. 'Kichiku' came from the part that he's like a demon when holding namahousou, sometimes extending his nama for 12-18 hours straight, his record being 48 hours with only short pauses in between for napping. 'Shota' comes from his apparent love for Kagamine Len and the mention of a "shota list" in one of his namahousou.

Sequel usually makes pop and alternative rock music, although most of his melodies are really gentle and are just laced with strong guitars and drums. He also has this tendency to make remake of his songs using different Vocaloids. At the moment, he has used Rin, Gakupo, and Luka although his most-often used Vocaloid is still Miku. His tuning is very good and seldom shaky.

I first heard Sequel because of the very catchy "Lobelia" (which doesn't have a lot of nice covers and it's kind of sad :( ). After checking his songs, I realize his nice range of music (he has rock, pop, ballads, etc.) is interesting and I like most of them. My favorite will always be Lobelia, though. I hope he makes more music like it :).

(Sorry for the lateness of this post! ;; )

This is my first time actually waiting for and transcribing the midyear Vocaloid Ranking, so I'm a bit excited despite the work before me XD.

This ranking considered Hatsune Miku songs uploaded from 12AM of December 15, 2009 up 11:59PM of June 14, 2010. The formula of computing for the ranks is not included in the blurb, but I think it's almost the same as the weekly Vocaloid ranking formula. The video included the top 80 songs, but the mylist link has 478 songs OTL. There's no way I CAN type up all of them so I'll just include here the top 100. There's still the Kagamine, KAITO, Luka and GUMI rankings, so please look forward to them :). Please take this as an opportunity to listen to Hatsune Miku songs considered as the best this half of 2010 :).

So far, this and the annual rankings are the only ones I type in reverse order (from 100-1) so that it'd be more exciting :). If you want me to do the midyear/annual rankings in the traditional way (the 1-xx order), just tell me :).

I have a feeling that I don't want to tag this....

Another predictable ranking this week (especially with the top 3 for me), but there are a lot of good songs this week. There is also quite a lot of Luka, which is a nice surprise. And a Kaito! There are still a lot of Miku songs, especially since there's Append, but compared to previous rankings this week's is a little balanced in terms of Vocaloids used.
