Weekly Vocaran #158 (October 4-11, 2010)
A lot of new wonderful songs this week, which is why some of the regulars are pushed off the rankings. But that's alright, because that means we have new stuff to loop, right?
↑# - the song moved up from a previous top 30 rank
↓# - song moved down from a previous top 30 rank
↵ - song is a re-entry to the top 30 rankings

Songs are arranged from 1-30.
01. Top Secret (Hatsune Miku) - scop
- It's his first time getting the number 1 spot, he said and I think it's well-earned. Scop's steady improvement with tuning and music-making is apparent especially in this song. The intro sounds very similar to Yubikiri although the piano sounds more profound here despite being combined with guitars. The PV is also very creative.
02. Kakurenbo (Hatsune Miku) - buzzG
- There was no doubt this would be somewhere in the top 5. buzzG's usual show of dexterity with guitars and snappy drums rules again. I like this more than Gallows Bell.
03. Knife (Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Rin/Len) - Rerulili
- I think by now you know how biased I am towards Rerulili's works because they're so HQ and catchy. This one is different from his previous up (a ballad) but gah, the Japanese melody intertwined with the rock beats got me so much. The PV/Art is wonderful, too.
04. Juliet and Romeo (Kagamine Rin, Hatsune Miku) - Tes.
- This song is like a cross of a LiveP song and a K-On!! song. It's catchy, has a cliche theme and has rockish beats you can jam to.
05. Kimi no te, Boku no te (Hatsune Miku) - 40mP
- ↓01
06. Matryoshka (GUMI x Hatsune Miku) - hachi
- ↓03
07. Uso to Diamond (GUMI) - Yucha
- ↓02
08. Tabechauzo (Gachapin) - med_ley
- The first Gachapin in the rankings? The shota fanart in piapro are really adorable and stuff but I can't get used to the voice ;_;.
09. Hello / How Are You? (Hatsune Miku) - HoehoeP
- ↵ This is pulled up probably by Ritsuka's and Mado's covers of the song.
10. Yumekumo (Hatsune Miku) - Mitani Nana
- I am not a fan so I don't know, but has Mitani Nana really tried everything? Singing, dancing and now composing? It's okay, and it's a song I can totally connect to Mitani Nana for some reason (pop-ish and cheerful-sounding?). Despite getting a lot of help for her guitar melody, illustration and PV, Nana seems to be doing a good job for a first-timer. Miku sounds satisfactory and the beat of the song itself is quite catchy.
11. Mozaik Role (GUMI) - DECO*27
- ↓10
12. Antidichlorobenzene (Kagamine Rin) - OwataP
- ↓06
13. World's End Dancehall (Hatsune Miku x Megurine Luka) - wowaka
- ↑16
14. Heart Groove (Hatsune Miku) - SuketchP
- ↓05
15. Clown (Hatsune Miku) - KulfiQ
- In a short span of time, KulfiQ has another song up, this time slightly rock-ish with catchy guitar melody. Miku is tuned way low at the start, too. Quite a change from his other works.
16. Moka (Hatsune Miku) - Tsunamaru/MezameP
- Are you thinking what I'm thinking? Well, it's not really related to *the* Moka, but this is a very lovely song. The tinkling piano beats, mixed in with violin music and more. It's a soft song that somehow rings into your ears.
17. Taishoushi (KAITO) - ■
- How long has it been since a KAITO song?! With the anime-like PV, melancholic beats, you know it's going to be some sort of war drama (well, maybe not, but still...). It's awesome in a different ballad sort of way ;_;. It's like a theme from those old military movies. ...Don't ask about the P name, it's really like that ^^;
18. Happy Lab (Hatsune Miku) - TRI-ReQ
- Typical song for me? The beat is a bit jarring at some parts, but the concept is amusing.
19. Gocha Gocha Urusee! (Akita Neru) - OwataP
- ↑26
20. Rolling Girl (Hatsune Miku) - wowaka
- ↑30
21. Perfect Solution (Kagamine Len) - Koushiro
- I like the intro especially the guitars when they started. It sounded like a shounen anime song. The PV is pretty cool, too. Len just sounds a bit unintelligible sometimes.
22. Charon (Hatsune Miku) - KulfiQ
- ↓14
23. Bad Answer (Hatsune Miku) - riyonoa
- After a "perfect solution", we get this one XD. Quite a nice listen, although it sounds very similar to riyonoa's other works, the beat, Miku's tuning, even the bass.
24. Millennia (Hatsune Miku) - Kanata Jun
- I think this is from a new VocaloidP, seeing I don't see any mylist or other songs by him in the Vocaloid category. That aside, the piano here is amazing, crisp and not drowned out by the drums/guitars. Miku's voice is also steady and smooth. A very nice alternative rock song, I think.
25. Green Straight (GUMI) - LiveP
- ↓04 It fell to fast :(.
26. Six Steps (Hatsune Miku) - Koichikurin
- The style reminds me of Easy Pop because of the beat, but Koichikurin's tuning is quite different, really soft and high Miku.
27. Shinkai Shoujo (Hatsune Miku) - YuuyuP
- keep
28. Paradichlorobenzene (Kagamine Len) - OwataP
- ↓18 It falls in every "8th" rank, what.
29. Yowamushi Montblanc (GUMI) - DECO*27
- ↓25
30. Corruption Garden (Megurine Luka) - Caz
- ↑34 pull-up because of that amazing PV, but the song itself is amazing.
pickup
• Solitary queen (Hatsune Miku) - MyumP
• Haru Machi Chou (Kagamine Len) - FuneP
history
1. Paradichlorobenzene (Kagamine Len) - OwataP

4. Mugen no Hoshizora (Hatsune Miku) - azuma
5. Bye-bee Baby Sayonara (Hatsune Miku) - saiB
My list of favorites this week includes Top Secret (#1), Kakurenbo (#2), Knife (#3), Clown (#15), Moka (#16), and Millennia (#24). ...and more, but if I keep listing, I'll just list the ranking all over again ^^;.
