Vocaloid Ranking 132 (April 5-12, 2010)

Thanks to everyone who pitched in their two cents on producer and utaite day! Look forward to them every week, ok? ♥. It's a bit hard deciding who to feature, but I'll make sure to feature someone who is not that popular so you'll get to know them more :3.

I almost forgot this ffff. It's because I usually do this while in the office /shot. And I was busy at work today XD. Anyway, here is the weekly Vocaranking. Again, order is NOT reversed.

01. Himitsu ~Kuro no Chikai~ (Kagamine Rin, Len) - HitoshizukuP
- Even though she keeps making these tragic, heartbreaking songs, I still love Hitoshizuku-P and her works. This one is no exception to the tragic theme. The song involves an angel, Rin, who got taken in and fell in love with Miku. In her jealousy towards Miku's fiance, Kaito, she shot him (a sin), and got shunned. After, Len comes to Miku and they fell in love, not knowing that Kaito, who apparently loved Rin, was getting his revenge. Kaito shot Miku and left her to die. Len saw Miku and revealed himself to be Rin, who had fallen from grace because of her sins. She then sacrified herself to save Miku and to atone for her misdeeds. Wow, so long.

02. Engeki Terpsichora (Hatsune Miku) - Hachi
- Hachi's unique style with his melodies is obvious in this song, those clanging/ringing/tinkling sounds all over your auditory canals.

03. Sakura no Zenta (Hatsune Miku) - HoehoeP
- This is an upbeat song laced with an alternative streak (guitars <33) and a dizzying but interesting PV.

04. Tantei Mushi Megane ~Saraba Kaijin 256 Mensou (Kagamine Len) - BucchigiriP
- Such a cute song with a mysterious hero flourish and game-like background.

05. Kaerimichi (Hatsune Miku) - NioP
- A nice relaxing ballad with great Miku vocals.

06. Anata wa Guzu da wa (Megurine luka) - Giccho no Hito
- Highschooler Luka sings a techno-pop song about being (slightly?) pissed off with her lover.

07. escapade (Kagamine Rin and Len) - oORaikaOo
- ↑31 I really like the intro of this song, so chic! Rin's scream terrified me at first but it sounds so pretty.

08. trick art (Kagamine Rin) - DATEKEN
- ↑13 A great jazz song by Dateken that's not overdone. The beats complement Rin's tamed voice and the song itself is relaxing.

09. Shota Shota Fever Miracle Tonight (Kagamine Len) - Giga
- I think I'm partly to blame why this song ranks so high Following samfree's example of eurobeat songs, Len does his own double-named, starred title, upbeat song XD.

10. Shiawase no Kakera (Hatsune Miku) - TsurutsuruP
- This is a light, happy-sounding song with cute art. The flutish melody is prettily apt for the song.

11. Your Highness, My Princess (Gakupo, Kaito, Len, Kiyoteru) - PantanP
- ↓5 The princes fall from the top 10 but this awesome little boyband song is still quite the favorite. Hnnngh @ art. Not just the art, I think the voices are well-done, too. Want more covers of this, pls.

12. mugs (Hatsune Miku) - FullkawaP
- ↓8 FullkawaP's auditory appeal of a song moves down a little. I still do not understand it, though ;;. This reminds me of ShinjoP's hanamogera.

13. Tooi Izanami (Kagamine Len) - ke-ji
- Ikelen!! W-wow, such deep voice for Len and quite a contrast from Shota Shota XD;.

14. Broken Human Machine (Hatsune Miku) - MachigeritaP
- Machige-san's back again with one of his gothic/eerie/downright scary songs. This one isn't as scary as his previous one although the image in the video is a bit disturbing. The beats, too T_T;

15. Monochrome Blue Sky (Hatsune Miku) - NoboruP
- ↓2 One of NoboruP's stellar songs falls down quite a bit :(. Vivienne's recent cover of this song made me love it even more.

16. Kimi ga Suki (Hatsune Miku) - yukkedoluce
- The melody here is nice, the guitar work impressed me. Miku sounds a little too high-strung for me, but the upbeat tempo complements it, I think.

17. Cicada (Hatsune Miku) - 21SeikiP/ErogewotaP
- The opening beats of this song really reeled me in, so...folk country-sounding XD;. Miku's voice is not hard on the ears. The only thing that's hard on the senses is the bright yellow video background but tbh, the splashes of colors are hard to ignore XD.

18. Last Smile (Hatsune Miku) - yiua
- This song has no background image or PV and the melody seems typical of Miku ballads (it reminds me of Last Night Good Night esp. the beginning part), but the same poignant and intermittent piano sounds create a sad feeling within the song.

19. Just Be Friends (Megurine Luka) - Dixie Flatline
- ↓14 The hard-to-beat regulars are slowly coming down one by one D:

20. Screenshot (Hatsune Miku) - No.D
- More jazzy sounds! The piano melody here is amazing as well as the flexibility exhibited by Miku's voice. I like this so much.

21. Out of lies (Megurine Luka) - Clean Tears
- Techno-pop? Luka's tuning here (as a tsundere xD) is quite good.

22. Usotsuki no Merry Go Round (Megurine Luka) - KuwagataP
- ↓4 I've always loved KuwagataP's songs (especially Kimi no Taion!) and while the PV of this song blinds me, the jazz beats and well-tuned Luka voice makes up for it so much.

23. Passionate Squall (Kagamine Len) - Shota Eroid-P
- Len trying to sound manly but... FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF. That is all. (PS: It sounds really good!)

24. Rolling Girl (Hatsune Miku) - wowaka
↓11 Rolling Girl is slowly rolling off the rankings.

25. Paradichlorobenzene (Kagamine Len) - OwataP
- ↑32 Unlike the ones above him, OwataP goes back to claim a spot in the top 30 with his brainwashing song.

26. Ura Omote Lovers (Hatsune Miku) - wowaka
- ↓15 Wowaka's other masterpiece drops down, too.

27. Luka Luka Night Fever (Megurine Luka) - samfree
- ↑30 It's bound to go up, especially if you're one of those people who watched Mitani Nana's celebratory dance to this song XD;.

28. Shinitagari (Hatsune Miku) - NashimotoP
- ↑85 A lot of people are wondering why this came back to the rankings. It's probably caused by the tons of covers appearing lately.

29. Tousou Romantic (Kagamine Rin) - FayeP/HiyomanP
- ↓01 Oh my, this has dropped quite a lot ;;;

30. Anamogera (Hatsune Miku) - アゴイモウトP
- This P's first contribution it seems. Not shabby.

Pickup: BeDash (Kagamine Rin) - Hoshi Takeshi

There are a lot of great songs this week! I hope it's a good sign of a good Vocaloid month :3.

you upload too many songs... I've been spending like 5 hours a week plowing through the songs you post that sound good... it's taking up so much time...

i love the artist for Himitsu, btw. The song is also awesome, and now i have to go through all the composer's and artist's videos...

not that i wanna sound ungrateful. love this site. - matt

Just so you know, you sound like an ingrate already. Even if, ultimately, you're not being offensive, that's how you come across.

Nobody's holding a gun to your head forcing you to spend 5 hours of your time per week to go through the songs posted here. I hope you know that.

You should be glad someone's willing to help non-japanese speakers have an easier time with this. And like the previous person said, no one forced you to listen to them. She could just keep all this info to herself. But that's a good thing for you right? That way you have an extra 5 hours to yourself, and you won't find any favourites and "go through all the composer's and artist's videos"

:(...Wow, I was clearly joking. I'm saying that this site has so much good stuff that I end up spending hours here every week. Don't get so offended (especially for someone else's sake).

Fine. How about this?

Ma'am, I thank you kindly for the service you have done me and so many others in your commitment and dedication to this fine website.

Satisfied? Hope so, because my feelings can be hurt with surprising ease. :(

Oh, one last thing. My overly polite statement must be read as if a Southern gentleman is saying it. I've been getting into True Blood lately :).

ROFL. If your feelings get hurt "with surprising ease," then you have to take extra care never to step on somebody else's toes whether you mean it or not. :/ Always think about the nuance of your words, especially since this is the internet, and there are no facial expression and body language to read.

Also, if you think that taking the role of the victim here would work, know that it wouldn't. Deal with it.
