Jimmythumb is in no way an obscure producer, having started uploading his works in 2008 and at present has a total of 27 songs in Nico Nico Douga. He is almost entirely a Miku producer, only using Luka in some of his other songs. His name Jimmythumb, came from "Jimi Thumb" which means "plain thumbnail", because each of his songs only has one picture showing all throughout the song. His P name, "One Room" is taken from the lyrics of probably his most popular song, From Y to Y.
One of the most obvious characteristics of Jimmythumb's songs is their clear, ringing melody. All of his works contain that techno-feel beat. There is seldom a use of an obvious instrument in his earlier works, and the more recent ones are sometimes accompanied by piano or guitars. He is sometimes called an expert in Miku ballads because of the high quality and awesome ballads he composes. These ballads are some of his more popular works. His songs are centered on pop, techno-pop, and ballads.
Jimmythumb also tunes Miku with dexterity and in all of his songs, she sings clearly and resoundingly. He is also one of the few producers I noticed to tune Miku so well, she pronounces the lyrics well. Sometimes, though, his Miku tends to sing very high, thankfully, it's not that hard on the ears. His Luka is often used in upbeat guitar-played songs with alternative rock hints, using her soft and husky voice really well, she sounds almost real.

You might have been surprised that today's spotlight is of a more popular producer (not to mention veteran). Well, consider this as a mini celebration, since Jimmythumb celebrated his 25th (?) birthday last Monday XD. I think Jimmythumb I like because he makes awesome songs and people make awesome covers of said songs. However unlike most people, I prefer his Luka songs to his Miku ones, and it's a pity that he hasn't made a lot of Luka songs. My favorite songs by him would have to be Dark to Light, Toybox, No Logic and Starduster (a Miku song). Of course, From Y to Y will be a constant favorite, and is one of the songs I recommend to people who are just starting on Vocaloid (and even utattemita, Tourai's cover XD).
