Otetsu is a Vocaloid producer mostly known for his Luka and Gakupo works. You might have known him from his popular Luka hit, Stardust Utopia. He started uploading his songs in Nico Nico Douga sometime in 2008 and has been active since then. He is often dubbed the "Legendary Luka Master" in tags because of the high quality of his work, especially Luka's songs.
He does not have a P-name because his name is already well-known enough to support his works. His works have appeared in numerous compilations including 12 Stars, Vocalolegend, Supernova and Vocarock Collection. He also has released four albums and two singles including "Shell" and 'Utopia". All of them are available either in online stores or iTunes.
Otetsu composes Vocarock songs, and he has composed a variety of songs ranging from rock ballads to songs bordering on Vocaloud. When he was starting as a P he mostly uses techno-like beats but as he composes, his use of guitar and drums became more dexterous. He also uses piano and violin melody in some songs, like in Stardust Utopia.
He uses a lot of Vocaloids: Hatsune Miku, Megurine Luka, Gumi, Gakupo, and at some points Hiyama Kiyoteru and Miki. One characteristic of his songs aside from the wonderful guitar-drum melody is how he tunes his Vocaloids. He has a way of making their voices loud enough not to drown under snappy drums and resounding guitar music (especially on Luka's and Gakupo's parts) even at very low tones without compromising the quality. Otetsu's Luka can sing very low or very high notes without sounding screechy or grating.
Aside from composing, otetsu occasionally does covers of his own and other producers' rock songs. He kind of sounds like Gakupo ^^;. If you don't believe me, listen to his cover of End of Ache XD.
sample songs
• Goodbye (remix) (Hatsune Miku)
• End of Ache (Gakupo)
• transient dream (GUMI)
• wish (Miki)
• Haijitsu (Hiyama Kiyoteru)
• Child's Garden (Megurine Luka)
covers
• Rinne (original by hachi)
• Haijitsu (self-cover)
• End of Ache (self-cover)

I've learned of otetsu when I got hooked to Stardust Utopia which is still one of my favorite Luka songs to date. I love his type of music: rock but not hard enough to be screamo. I adore his way of tuning Luka, which is why I'm attached to Luka singing rock songs more than her singing ballads. I don't think he has made a Luka song that I do not like (I'm not much into Gakupo and Miku so...), and when I found out that he has a GUMI song, albeit a single one, it was enough incentive for me to search for the 12 Stars CD where it was in. I...kind of like his Kiyoteru too, he sounds sobadass awesome. So I wish there'd be more Kiyo and GUMI songs from him.
His singing voice reminds me of Gakupo so much although his speaking voice not very much. He has very interesting namahousou because he does the most random things. Like...drawing Mona Lisa (serious). Well, tried to XD. Sometimes he also uses his camera in his housou.
