buzzpanda/ばずぱんだ

mylist | community | mixi | twitter

buzzpanda's first Nico upload was a year ago on Christmas Day. He only has a few uploads in his list but what makes buzzpanda different from other utaite is the acoustic arrangement of his covers. He sings his covers along with his own guitar accompaniment.

buzzpanda's voice is in the middle range, not too high and not too low. He does manage to hit the high notes like in Starduster but he is best at middle tones. He has a gentle voice that is perfect with his guitar playing. His voice has a calming effect especially if you want to feel at peace. Listening to his arrangements, one could tell that he has impressive guitar skills.

His lives are usually him playing the guitar while singing.

sample songs:

Starduster (Jimmythumb original)
Hello/ How are you HoehoeP original)
Bye-Bye Lover (samfree original)
girlfriend (FullkawaP original)
Alice with Sukebe (FullkawaP original)

I found out about buzzpanda when I was stalking covers of Alice. His cover with Sukebe was so heartwarming that I immediately went to his mylist and listened to his covers. I've always been impressed with men who sing while playing the guitar. /coughsasamarucoughs I loop his covers without getting tired of listening to it.

I thought I'd write about a fairly unknown producer this time. ^^

Nekobolo

mylist | twitter | piapro

Nekobolo has been uploading works on NND for over a year now, his (I believe he's a he based on his tweets...) earliest upload being back in July 2009. He has uploaded works using the Kagamine Twins, Hatsune Miku, Megurine Luka and also Kasane Teto. While the vocaloids/UTAU he uses are pretty varied, his music style is fairly consistent. If I had to describe the feel of his music in one word, I would use the word "soft". Or "gentle". Well, I guess it turned into two words. ._.

Anyway, this isn't to say that he uses only mellow-sounding instruments in his songs. He also uses electric guitars and electronic sounds. Actually, quite ironically, for such gentle-sounding songs, his works usually have many different sounds in the background. His songs also tend to be simple on the lyrics side. His lines are usually short, and in my opinion, this adds to the relaxing feel of his songs.

While his works generally do not get a lot of views and have not reached the the rankings, Nekobolo seems to be consistently active enough in his adventures as a composer. He participated in the Vocaloid Master last November (crossfade here) and he seems to be under a circle called "EndEarthOrchestra" which I don't really have any information on (sorry! ><).

Finally, as with my last entry here, I would like to end this spotlight by introducing some kaomoji Nekobolo usually uses: ('ω`*) (*>ω<) ...since I can't think of any other way to end this kaomojis paint/type a thousand words. ( =w=)b*

sample music
Drop of moment (Luka)
night (Miku)
Sayonara Ieru Kana (Miku)
Suki da! (Rin)

I only discovered Nekobolo because hoehoeP tweeted his "Sayonara Ieru Kana" and I decided to listen to it. While I don't confine my listening adventures to particular genres (well, I can't identify genres anyway), I've observed in the past few years of my life that I generally tend towards noisier (?) songs. However, I ended up liking Nekobolo's works right away. They're just so...gentle, really, in my opinion. To me, his songs feel like you're floating alone in the ocean with no land in sight, just staring at a not-too-bright blue sky. It's like a relaxing kind of solitude, which I personally love to have from time to time. :)
.....Then it would only be a matter of time 'til you float your way towards eternal peace. /o/

Btw, I chose to romanize his name that way because of his twitter name. /o/
