Weekly Vocaran #161 (October 25-November 1, 2010)

I apologize for the lateness in the rankings. The weekend has been quite busy, riajuu time, if I might say ^^;. Anyway, typing this up at work so I can't view the videos. If there are any notable videos in the list, feel free to spazz in the comments! This week has tons of new videos you will barely notice the old ones.

↑# - the song moved up from a previous top 30 rank
↓# - song moved down from a previous top 30 rank
- song is a re-entry to the top 30 rankings

Songs are arranged from 1-30.

1. Ameyumerou (Hatsune Miku and Kagamine Rin) - HitoshizukuP
- Despite the slightly shaky Rin and Miku voices, Hitoshizuku's beautiful music has captured us once more. I definitely love this because of the Japanese elements in the melody.

2. For My Soul (GUMI) - Junky
- Junky is proving to be a really flexible composer, having started with the technopop Melancholic and now delving into Vocarock with this track. GUMI's still a bit grating on the low parts, but his tuning has definitely improved. Not to mention the guitars are really good. I appreciate the brief piano part in the middle.

3. crack (Hatsune Miku) - keeno
- ↓01

4. Mata Ashita (Hatsune Miku) - FuwariP
- The intro reminds me of a louder Hello/How Are You, but that's the only similar part they have. The piano melody is gentle but ringing, just like Miku's voice. Very clear tuning. It is quite a simple song, but because it is simple, it's very relaxing and engaging.

5. Neko Neko Super Fever Night (Nekomura Iroha) - samfree
- ↑08

6. Tenki Ame (Hatsune Miku) - kous
- A surprising, slightly upbeat song from kous, which I admit I am not used to. Still, the poignant background melody kous is known for is still present. The song is actually catchy and is a nice change from kous' usual quiet, soft melodies.

7. Karaless (Hatsune Miku) - yuniP x knee
- The melody is actually just so-so and ordinary, but Miku's tuning is nice, soft and gentle, which makes this a good listen. Knee is also the developer of UTAU Nene Nene.

8. Hana he Tadore Ito (Hatsune Miku) - KusoinakaP
- This lovely song starts off like a ballad with only an acoustic guitar for melody, then slowly rising to a strong alternative song. Miku's voice is strong against the guitars and drums, which is nice.

9. Matryoshka (GUMI x Hatsune Miku) - hachi
- ↓07

10. World's End Dancehall (Hatsune Miku x Megurine Luka) - wowaka
- ↑17

11. Net Game Haijin Sprechchor (Hatsune Miku) - Satsuki ga Tenkomouri
- ↓02

12. Gyakutsumi Koushinkyoku ~kai~ (KAITO) - MachigeritaP
- Even if they sound haunting as if in an old-school horror film, I love Machige's guitars here. So catchy OTL. KAITO sounds okay and his voice actually fits the beat of the song.

13. Usotsuki to Maigo no Issen-nen (MEIKO, KAITO, GUMI) - MyGodP
- This is one of MyGodP's usual strong rock-ish songs, although a bit less dark than his previous ones. The Vocaloids do not sound shaky at all and Meiko especially sounds good! Note also KAIKO's participation XD.

14. Souzoujou Baidubeda (Kagamine Rin) - LOLICOM
- I...have no idea what the katakana means. If you know, please do enlighten me. Anyway, I knew LOLICOM had been composing his own songs but I didn't know he uses Vocaloids, too. Rin sounds a bit shaky against the upbeat, ska/rock/idk-ish song, but it's part of the song's charm. This is a fun listen, so many sounds in a melody as well as a catchy beat. The rap at the middle was so much fun XD.

15. Enfants Terribles in Halloween (Hatsune Miku) - Teniwoha
- A classic Halloween melody with a slight jazz twist. The background melody sounds really classy and Miku's ushishishi sounds cute and creepy at the same time. Miku's tuning was nice, complete with autotuned creepiness. Really nice!

16. TARARURA* (Hatsune Miku) - rlboro
- I adore the music-box thingy at the start although the wonderful mix of guitars in the song is also awesome. I do not dig Miku's voice here much because she sounds too...helium-induced in the low parts, although I like the music itself.

17. Saa, Docchi? (Kagamine Len) - Hinata Haruhana
- ↓04

18. Mozaik Role (GUMI) - DECO*27
- ↓15

19. Nibiiro Sora ni Hanafubuki (KAITO) - ShigotoshiteP
- ↓13

20. Darkness Six (Kagamine Len) - AVTechNO!
- ↓14

21. Kurikaeshi Hitotsubu (Hatsune Miku) - NekomushiP
- You might remember NekomushiP as the one behind the Wanwan-o, Nyannyan-o fever. This song is nowhere near the cutesy song, though, being more rock-ish and upbeat although his Miku still sounds the same with the slight voice curls at the end.

22. Eclair ~Kierta Anata tame no Chinkonka (Hatsune Miku) - MachigeritaP
- A more rockish and creepy song compared to his KAITO one above, this song has amazing guitars and is probably one of my favorites among Machige's works. Miku's voice is clear against the strong background music and while the music is powerful, it is not hard on the ears. The lyrics are just a bit...^^; well, cruel as always.

23. Pumpkin Head Spooky Dance (Hatsune Miku) - MachigeritaP
- Machige really likes Halloween, doesn't he? XDD This song has Machige's usual spooky humming in the intro, and then starts off as an upbeat melody, disguised as a seemingly cheery song. This one is very catchy, you might catch yourself humming the chorus to yourself after listening.

24. Mrs. Pumpkin no Kokkei na Yume (Hatsune Miku) - hachi
- One of the most well-known Halloween-themed song and is probably the most-covered song this Halloween.

25. Yakiimono Uta (Rin, Len, Miku, Meiko, Kaito) - Sankagami/Kid/crystalP
- To counter all the Halloween/creepiness in the ranking, we have a cute song by Rin and Len. I like the music so much, so simple yet has elaborate sounds that reminds me of snow.

26. Hajimete no Do Re Mi (Hatsune Miku) - OTO
- ↓03

27. Hatsune Miku no Shoushitsu (Hatsune Miku) - cosMo
-

28. (Cover) Irony (Hatsune Miku) - kz
- The song is an OP to the anime Oreimo.

29. Hari no Umi (VY1) - SeikoP
- The intro is so beautiful. It reminds me of those insert songs in fantasy anime. VY1 doesn't sound bad herself, with solid tuning.

30. Zenyasai Koushin (Kagamine Rin and Len) - mayuko
- This is very cute (and creepy)! According to comments the song reminds them of Disney songs XD. I especially love Rin and Len's exchanging lines and harmony.

Violence Halloween Party (Kagamine + Gakupo)
it's just a sadness (Megurine Luka) - KYAR
