Hello! This is non-ofuro-related but you might be interested in it.

From February 21 to 28, Dreamwidth will have an open account creation week. It means you can make dreamwidth accounts even without codes. You just need to go to the account creation page and register!

DW is very similar to Livejournal. Having a DW account will enable you to join DW communities like [community profile] ofurotaimu and post entries there.

If you're interested, start thinking of awesome usernames now XD; If you managed to make one and you have already filled in your intro post, please comment to your previous comment with your DW journal. If you haven't replied to that post yet...do it!!! XD

It might be uncomfortable about making an account here because your journal might seem ronery and stuff, with only a few people using the site. But if you want, we can hold a friending meme for ofurotaimu members :3. But this is not compulsory. Register only if you really feel like it.

xi-onP / 彩音P

mylist | blog | piapro

I mentioned Xi-onP in my spotlight for utaite Tabun Jibun, so you should've figured out that I'll be posting about him, too :3. Note that 彩音P refers to the producer himself. ~xi-on~ refers to his circle, which consists of four people (Xi-onP, φ, Shoukatsu and Moutoku). This circle releases not only Vocaloid but also Touhou albums.

Xi-onP (SaionP) started uploading his Vocaloid works way back in 2008, starting with the hits Yukimine (90k views) and Salaryman no Uta (500k views). Later on, he remade Yukimine with a slower ballad approach and named it ~Yukimine~ piano and strings ver. which remains one of Miku's most beautiful ballads. Until now, he continues to make Vocaloid music, his last upload sometime in latter 2010. He is considered a hit maker, with his older songs reaching more than 25k views.

Xi-on's style is a bit varied but is almost always leaning towards ballads. He has some rock songs, but are always very gentle, as if lulling the listeners to calmness despite the rock-ish approach. He likes using piano melody with subtle hi-hat cymbals and guitars (both electric and acoustic). He also uses violin melodies, albeit very selectively. His earlier works are more gentle, with more quiet, flowing rhythms. His recent works are upbeat and jazzy, with a more liberal use of sounds.

Miku is his sole Vocaloid, tuned solidly with medium tone, not to low or too high. One characteristic of his tuning is how he can make Miku sing lengthy notes without sounding off. His Miku also sings the lyrics clearly and pronounces each syllables well (one good example of this is in his Laika). Xi-on's circle has released four Vocaloid CDs, sadly, not all of them are available for buying online. You can view the links to the shops for each CDs in their homepage.

First of all, I am very sorry for my stupidity since I thought his P name is read differently from "xi-on". I actually read it as AyaneP :((. Really sorry OTL. Anyway, I first heard Xi-onP with his adorable "Salaryman no Uta". After that, I found Wotamin's version of his Yukimine and fell in love with the lyrics. For some reason I always end up finding covers of his works and liking them (the original and cover) to bits (Riseha's Laika, Tabun Jibun's Harukaze, etc). Eventually, I ended up listening to his whole mylist and liking each and every one of his songs. I haven't listened to any of his circle's Touhou releases though, sadly :(. If you want music that's easy to listen to or music that's pretty but not as grandiose and complicated as other P's, his works are highly recommended.
