Hello. This is the sort-of intro post for commenters/readers of ofurotaimu. Remember I said I welcome people to post pimp posts of their own? But I think I might've scared people off or something, idk, but it's not working LOL. So, this is like a replacement for it.

I talk a lot in the community (super lots) but I don't know much about you guys except for those times we flail around in the comments. And it's a bit lonely not knowing people, especially those who aren't registered in LJ or DW since I only know you by name (or worse, IP address, wtf). So, take this as a survey for me and other readers to know more about you and the things that make you happy :). Who knows, you might also meet people who have the same flail material as you do.

So, if you frequent this comm whether you use DW/LJ or none, please please fill this out. All fields are optional, don't answer some questions if you don't want to. I'd love to know everyone's favorites and how you got into the fandom :3. As for the favorites part, take it as your kind of "pimp post" for your favorites so feel free to include links and spazz and whatnot :D. It's your spotlight, so write whatever you want. Just remember, this is a public post which can be read by people everywhere even from Jupiter :D.

◕ anything else? I really love how this comm introduced me to a lot more fantastic utattemita singers. Since I'm more of a producer/vocaloid fan, I don't know much about utattemita. At times I find it difficult to find the less well-known and yet great utattemita singers, but this comm has helped me to find some of them and I'm so glad for that! :D

I mostly got into Vocaloid thanks to lluvia, but also due to hunting around for interesting videos on Nicovideo - it was a quick leap from the general ranking to the singing robot ranking, especially when we were busy going 'aawwww' at MMD videos. Then one day Floor started a journal for her singing robot spam and I told her to make it a community instead, and somehow I've ended up custodian of a small army of singing robot people and a complete lack of icon posts clogging up the comm.

It's really hard to keep up constant favorites when you're checking out all the new releases, but by and large I prefer Miku and Luka and right now seriously latch onto fatman, DECO*27, and daniwell.

GaRiRe:O can be considered a collab, I think XD;. But more on the doujin side of Nico singers, yeah :D. Don't say only! You actually have a band there already, TEST on guitars, Tissue on bass and HS on keyboards :D :D

Hi Elky!

I love bubble tea, too ;_;. Taro and strawberry, to be exact LOL.

Minato seems to be everyone's default producer. It's amazing :D. Ren/Dasoku is insanely funny/sexy/to-die-for. They should do more things and Dasoku should continue cooking in REN's spacious kitchen /shot :3.

I honestly didn't know that posts here end up in Google until people here said so. So thank you Google ;_; As for translations, I guess I can give that as soon as I have the time to go over my notes :D.

◕ how did you get into vocaloid? I WAS VERY CONFUSED BY IEVAN POLKKA. I was like "w-who is this Miku person ..." So I got to poking around and then I kept poking around because I kept finding MORE STUFF. Initially it was more like academic curiosity, I guess, because I think it's really neat how Vocaloid is very different from my internal understanding of "how fandom is created/sustained" normally, but somewhere around the first time I heard a supercell song it stopped being just curiosity and became full-blown fannish addiction ._. Stupid singing robots.
◕ how did you get into utattemita? Uhm ... this comm, more or less! I've tried before, but I couldn't get a good handle on WHERE TO START to get some kind of, like, baseline for how I should approach them. This comm makes it easy because it helps put a lot of things I couldn't wrap my head around into context! So I am v. grateful for that, because otherwise utattemita would have been this giant ... Cthulhuish monstrosity that ate nightmares for me, I guess.
◕ first utaite/singer you ever encountered: I'm pretty sure it was REN.
◕ first producer you ever encountered: HAHA, I CAN'T EVEN REMEMBER. The first time I knew one by name was definitely minato, though.

I guess I like all the Vocaloids whose names start with M! Hi Tara!

I'm sorry, I cracked up when I saw "beef stroganoff" because it reminds me of some story here at work. We asked the waitress what "beef stroganoff" is and she said it's pork asdkhasfjgs okay funnystorydone

LOL Ievan Polka. I was...confused with it, too. "What's with the leek" and all that orz. The fandom in both Vocaloid and utattemita is, I agree, quite different. And too big in terms of "things you have to know" and "people you have to meet" XD;. Yup. black holes right there. Buuuuut I'm glad the comm has been helpful in sucking you in one of the black hole :D.

KAITO is one of my favorites, too, but he has to be tuned veeeerry well for me to like the song. Some of his songs made him sound like he's singing while pinching his nose /shot. But he seems to be hard to tune so okay XD. Miki actually sounds good in solos! But some keep making her sing in duets with Miku where of course, she'd be overshadowed :(.

UtsuP and Machigerita! Wow, dark stuff there. I always try steeling myself when watching some of their PVs since they freak me out XDD;. I hope you get to like more utaite :3 :3. /enables And...O-OTL I wanted to forget Pokota's bear!smex and chair abuse but I guess it's here to stay XDD.

I see a lot of you were into mothy's Akuno series at first, too :3. Well, the art and story were lovely and sad ;_;. LOL @ Robotic. I am not fond of AkunoP's tuning, too, but his music and narratives are good~.

JimmythumbP's ballads are amazing, aren't they? As for Tourai, well, I can't say much about the prince of bandwagon songs before wowaka /shot. And Nem XDD;. Err...he's interesting? But I love his music :3.

K-ta! Needs more love XD;. He's a good singer. LOL I see a lot are fans of Jyuutarou (Beeeeige/Kettaro). How come the only ones I see in lives are Kettaro/Mucchi. Must...stalk or something XD;.

LOL @ your experience with Vocaloid and utattemita upon encountering them XD;. It's really true though, that some people tend to mix up covers and real versions (Vocaloid) XDD;. And you're not the only one who wants Hwly for Riseha's song fffff. I think I've listened to the crossfade a dangerous number of times. I approve of her brotherly/sisterly/ahem relationship with Amu. They're so sweet to each other ;_;. UsaTolie? LOLOL. I think Tourai gets bullied easily, tbh, and he is always late to their meeting so Usa's all :| at him ^^;.
