Weekly Vocaran #153 (August 30-September 6, 2010)
There are a lot of wonderful uploads this week, a couple of crack(?) stuff, but the rest are really good listens :).
↑# - the song moved up from a previous top 30 rank
↓# - song moved down from a previous top 30 rank
↵ - song is a re-entry to the top 30 rankings

Songs are arranged from 1-30.
01. Shinkai Shoujo (Hatsune Miku) - YuuyuP
- Sometimes it all takes a simple alternative rock Miku song to top everyone, and this is one of those times. This song is actually very simple but I cannot say the beat is commonplace. The crisp drums, modulated guitars and Miku's wonderful tuning all amounts to this being an awesome song (and I am biased towards YuuyuP :x).
02. Heart Sutra -pop arrange- (Hatsune Miku) - OnyuuP
- Okay, this is the source of this week's bandwagoning in the Vocaloid community. Basically, this is Onyuu (Onew?)P arranging the reciting of Heart Sutra to a singable? Miku song (pop version). And then, it exploded and many, many producers now have their own arrangements of the song...sutra. You can view some of the notable ones here in
singing_robots.
03. Matryoshka (GUMI x Hatsune Miku) - hachi
- ↓01
04. Rozetta (GUMI) - monaca:factory
- Probably one of my favorites in this ranking. It's not because it's GUMI. It's because the beat is different from most uploads and it's nicely delivered. GUMI also sounds very good. the PV is also interesting (well, the way the lyrics were displayed out).
05. Hatsune Miku to Asobo (Hatsune Miku) - cosMo/BousouP
- I honestly am not used to seeing cosMo uploading cutesy songs like this. It reminds me of OSTER LOL. It's cute and catchy and probably cosMo was in this mood when he recorded Magical Nuko Lenlen XD.
06. Shibakusuu #0822 (Hatsune Miku) - papiyon
- ↓03
07. Koisuru Mutant (Hatsune Miku) - PinocchioP
- Upbeat song with beat typical of PinocchioP: slightly confusing/messy but nevertheless sounds good.
08. Flowering (Hatsune Miku) - malo
- The melody is nice, but I kind of have issues with Miku's voice. Too high for my tastes ^^;
09. ne★gi (Hatsune Miku) - ma10a
- Typical song for me, but the PV and lyrics cracks me up so much. LOL.
10. Abazureni Blues (Megurine Luka) - ShimakosakkuP
- I have honestly never heard of the P, but Luka sounds pretty good in this song. Slightly drowned by the guitars, her voice is really low here only to peak high, but it smoothly tuned.
11. fanfan (Megurine Luka) - Imama/Bit-z
- Autotuned sugary pop, similar to Easypop and Junky's styles. Not bad, in fact really catchy. Luka's voice sounds better in autotune than Miku, imho.
12. Madame Merry-go-Round (Hatsune Miku) - mothy/AkunoP
- I don't really understand AkunoP's song-naming, but that could be because I don't fully read translations of his songs ^^;. Anyway, this is very much like Venomania's atmosphere, a bit dark with a tinge of goth here and there. It actually reminds me of Machigerita ^^;.
13. Encounter (Hatsune Miku) - Re:NG
- Pretty good upbeat song from Re:NG. Miku sounds a little shaky, but the melody is lovely.
14. Mozaik Role (GUMI) - DECO*27
- ↓08
15. Bathroom Garden (Hatsune Miku) - OSTER Project
- ↓06
16. Lily Lily ★ Burning Night (Lily) - samfree
- ↓02
17. Shirogane (Hatsune Miku) - Sequel
- I love this ;_;. Miku sounds a little too high, but the flowing voice + rockish melody is addictive.
18. Miku Miku ni Shite Ageru (Hatsune Miku) - iku
- ↵32 Whoa, welcome back.
19. Borderlands! (Kagamine Len) - MachigeritaP
- Freaky PV as always, but this song is pretty catchy. Len sounds autotuned but he fits the song.
20. WAVEFILE (Hatsune Miku) - GojimajiP
- Pretty cute, not as catchy as Ochame Kinou, though.
21. Heart Sutra -rock arrange- (Hatsune Miku) - original by OnyuuP, arranged by KuwagataP
- LOL Another of my favorite among the bandwagon songs.
22. Liar Girl (Hatsune Miku) - InokashiraP
- InokashiraP is also Jigiru in the utattemita community. Liar Girl is also one of his compositions for Hiwaily*2, first sung by Riseha.
23. [Talkloid] Karaoke (KAITO, Gakupo, Kiyoteru) - KonkiP
- ↑26
24. Ningyou to Hidarime (Hatsune Miku) - DeadballP
- ↓14
25. Heart Sutra -hardcore ver- (Hatsune Miku) - original by OnyuuP, arrangement by UtsuP
26. Reflect (Hatsune Miku) - yukkedoluce
- A kind of dark-themed song once more from the composer of "Kimi ga Suki". I think he's (yup, he's a guy) really into self-probing songs at the moment ^^;. Art is also by him.
27. Chloe (Lily) - sele
- ↓05
28. World's End Dancehall (Hatsune Miku x Megurine Luka) - wowaka
- ↓15
29. Rolling Girl (Hatsune Miku) - wowaka
- ↓25
30. Aitai (GUMI) - Dios/SignalP
- ↓12
pickup
• Awakening (VY1) - KazuP
• Senro wa Tsuzuku yo (Hatsune Miku) - MajoP
As for favorites, it's obvious that Shinkai Shoujo (#1) is one. There's also Rozetta (#4), Encounter (#13), Shirogane (#15) and Heart Sutra -rock arrange (#21). I've yet to listen to all the Heart Sutra songs (so many arrangements ^^;).
