Weekly Vocaran 168 (12/13-12/30, 2010)
Weekly Vocaloid Ranking #168 (December 13-20, 2010)
Not many new things today, which is a bit disapppointing since the old songs just ended up getting juggled from one rank to another. There are quite a few well-known P's who uploaded this week, anyway, so the ranking is worth a look!
↑# - the song moved up from a previous top 30 rank
↓# - song moved down from a previous top 30 rank
↵ - song is a re-entry to the top 30 rankings

Songs are arranged from 1-30.
01. Isshu no Pokemon Ieru no ka! (Gachapoid x Hatsune Miku) - collab
- ↑08 L-LOL.
02. Christmas Tree wo Kiritaose! -full ver- (Hatsune Miku) - DeadballP
- Title translates to, "I'll cut down the Christmas Tree". Another cheerful but morbid song by DeadballP. The beat at the start reminds of Nugeba ii tte mon janai and Wash My Bloodfor some reason, but the rest is rockish and can I say, Christmassy?
03. Seiten Drops (Kagamine Rin) - Yucha
- Title translates to "Heavenly Drops". The video is very nice! Yucha is on a roll, though, uploading wonderful songs in a row. This one's not as jazzy as the previous ones and is more on the cuter side.
04. Christmas Nanka Iranai (Hatsune Miku) - NashimotoP
- Another angry-at-the-world song by Nashimotowe, more cracked than scary compared to his other songs.
05. Hitori (Hatsune Miku) - KuwagataP
- I admit I'm still biased towards Hystery, but this one is also awesome. Typical slow KuwaP song, but the tuning against the rockish ballad melody is perfect.
06. highway (Hatsune Miku) - SmileR
- Another SmileR song, which is being uploaded in a row for weeks now! This one's good, but I don't think it's as good as the two previous ones for some reason. However, the melody is uplifting, like old school j-pop songs. The lyrics are pretty good too.
07. Kaise Kaise (MEIKO) - Yuukii (E.L.V.N.)
- Title translates to "Destroy, Destroy". What wonderful MEIKO tuning *_*. The music is not bad either!
08. eve*2 (Hatsune Miku) - scop
- The title is pronounced as "eve eve". Scop also has his own contribution to the Christmas spirit through this song. After he uploaded a series of ballads, a rather deceivingly cheerful piano melody which is very similar to Yubikiri's piano arrangement comes. I love scop's piano melody, so this is a treat :3.
09. Tenjou (Hatsune Miku) - buzzG
- Title translates to "Ceiling". Another awesome rock ballad from buzzG. It has quite a different feel because it starts of very slow and ballad-ish unlike most buzzG songs which start off strong. The rest of the song is mostly piano instead of strong guitars, so it's a pleasant change from buzzG's usual masterpieces.
10. Snow Quartz (Megurine Luka) - SeikoP
- A nice trancelike intro welcomes you and slowly, it becomes more pop-ish although the trancelike melodies remain in the background. Luka's tuned really high, which is amazing, if I might say. The chorus. Wow. Just...Luka sounds like a real soprano...a real person. It's like a state of euphoria.
11. Mukashi Mukashi no Kyou no Boku (Hatsune Miku) - DECO*27 x ShijigenP
- ↓09
12. whiteout (Hatsune Miku) - hachioujiP
- A tamer, effectively sweeter song from the prince after the strong hard beats of Distorted Princess. The tuning is quite good here and the beat reminds me of other similar Ps like Easypop, etc. but I still like the magnetic appeal of Distorted Princess. Not to mention it's catchier.
13. Mozaik Role (GUMI) - DECO*27
- ↑14
14. Matryoshka (GUMI x Hatsune Miku) - hachi
- ↓11
15. infection waves (Hatsune Miku) - KetchuP/sleepless
- keeper
16. Invisible Cockpit (Kaai Yuki) - yuniP
- ↑17
17. Poker Face (GUMI) - Yucha
- ↓10
18. Santa wa mou Konai (Hatsune Miku) - yukkedoluce
- Translated as "Santa Won't Come Anymore". Another upbeat but as always, sad and thought-provoking song from yukkedoluce. The beat is as beautifully unpredictable as always, and that's becoming quite a charm of yukke's songs. I have romanized and translated this song @
onsenjikan.
19. Christmas Morgue (Hatsune Miku) - hachi
- ↓01
20. Vogue (Megurine Luka) - Imama
- There are some negative comments on this song because they said it sounds too much like JBF at the intro and perfume in the stanzas. But, I think it's a very cute song. The beats become more varied and unique as the song progresses and Luka's tuning is good. The art is very cute, too.
21. End Roll ga Owaru Made (Kagamine Rin) - geru
- Title translates to "Until the end credits stop rolling". This song has a really nice guitar melody at the intro, which escalates into something more rockish as the song progresses. Typical rock ballad and Rin tuning, but a good listen nevertheless.
22. remember (Utatane Piko) - Kannakuzu
- The song reminds me so much of Len, but Piko's voice is huskier and richer compared to Len's. Quite a good rock song although the guitars need a bit more power. The acoustic guitar melody is an awesome addition.
23. Present (Hatsune Miku) - FuwariP
- ↓21
24. World's End Dancehall (Hatsune Miku x Megurine Luka) - wowaka
- ↓20
25. Happy Synthesizer (GUMI x Megurine Luka) - EasyPop
- ↓16
26. Yowamushi Montblanc (GUMI) - DECO*27
- ↓23
27. Cassiopeia (Hatsune Miku) - InogashiraP
- ↓03
28. Hijitsuzai Seishounen Kenzen Ikuseihou (Hatsune Miku) - koushirou/HikutsuP
- ↓24
29. Kimi no Maboroshi (Hatsune Miku) - U-ske
- ↓27
30. Kin no Iri Hi ni Tefuukin (MEIKO) - ■P
- ↵

• Kanosato Yatsuki (Hatsune Miku) - bibuko

I agree also about kaise kaise. MEIKO sounds very nice here!! But then, I've not heard many Meiko songs that I've been impressed with her sound >_
