I'm really way behind ;;. I hope people are reading this even though it's late OTL. Two rankings ago, there is a new insert introduced to the ranking aside from the weekly 5 pickups. This is the "last year in top 5" segment where the top 5 songs in the ranking one year ago will be played. I guess I should be including those songs, too, but we'll see :).

Honestly, I've seen the news for this in 2ch but this is the first time I've seen the cover of the CD and the start of the countdown in the website. I'm pinged by someone from LJ to actually translate the stuff in the site and stop sulking in plurk LOL.

So, December 29, six Nico singers namely Dasoku, Clear, ASK, Faneru, Gero and Pokota will be releasing a host-club themed cd named Smiley*2 (Smiley Smiley). The CD will contain songs, serifu (random lines) and a short drama skit. This CD will be sold during Comiket 77 (December 29-31, 2009).


My initial reaction: FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF (♥).

SMILEY*2
Are host clubs located in Kantou and Kansai. They're known for their hosts with amazing voices (random seducing words here).

HOSTS:

蛇足 (dasoku)
Owner of the Smiley*2 Host Club, Kantou region. He is a legend in the host club world, saying he once earned one hundred million yen in just one night.

clear
Kantou branch's airhead "prince" and is the number one host. Young ladies are fascinated by his sweet voice and laughter.

ぽこた (pokota)
Kantou branch's newest host. He is a threat to the number one spot.

ASK
Kansai branch's number one host. He cherishes the owner's son, Faneru, so much like a cat (note: this line is so misleading in a number of ways OTL).

ふぁねる (Faneru)
Son of the owner of the Kansai brach host club. He is a university student who helps out with the family business.

Gero
Kansai branch's number two host. He is the store's biggest earner but somehow acts like a servant to the owner's son.

Instead of posting lots of songs (new picks) weekly, I am considering posting about the Nico Nico Utattemita rankings instead :). This is basically just like the Vocaloid ranking. The ranking videos have three parts:

1. The weekly top ten, where the top ten releases of the week are shown.
2. The overall top 30 for the week, where the top 30 songs of the week, regardless of when it was uploaded, are shown.
3. New picks, where songs that aren't in the countdown but should have more viewers are shown.

The computation of the total points is as follows:

number of views + number of comments (x correction value) + number of mylists x 50
[correction value: percentage sum of views + mylists]

I'm supposed to do the new stuff post every week, but things happened so it now seems that I'm doing them PER MONTH ;A;. Sorry. I am not posting the formal new stuff post now. Little Traveler [Clear]
Originally sung by Hatsune Miku as composed by OneRoom-P. Clear is really the king of ballads for me. This is another great cover. Wotamin did the mixing for this song, too. :3.

グレア [ヲタみん]
The title reads "Glare". Originally sung by Kagamine Rin as composed by BaruP. Wotamin has a nice singing voice and while this song is not really as impressive as her other covers (like Ouka Ryouran), it's a treat to hear her sing "cool" songs instead of her usual "cutesy" ones. Valshe did the encoding for this song.

夢桜【柿チョコ×バルシェ】
The title reads "Dreamy Sakura". Originally sung by Rin and Len as composed by ひとしずくＰ (HitoshizukuP). Of course, Kakichoco is singing for Rin while Valshe is singing for Len. I like the Vocaloid version of this song, so I was thrilled when I discovered Valshe did a rendition ♥. The story of this song is of forbidden love...a bit sad: Rin's character was to be married to Gakupo's character when one night, she met and fell in love with a young violinist (Len's character).

野良犬疾走日和【じゃっく×ちょうちょ】
The title reads "A Fair Weather for a Stray Dog to Run". Originally sung by KAITO and MEIKO as composed by BosuP (I'm not writing his full name orz). 寂聴 (Jakuchou) has sung this really well. We hear Chouchou's gentle but clear voice and Jack's deep seme voice XD;. I don't know much about the song, though. I just know it's about someone who runs, LOL.

不屈の魂でごっちゃに！ [ASK]
This is a mix of different themes from anime and game. I think that about sums up what this video is about. The amazing thing is ASK sang them all (Lucky Star, Suzumiya Haruhi, etc.). ♥

トマトのうた [みーちゃん]
This is a cover of Delicious Tomato Song by Hetalia's Italy (Namikawa Daisuke) and includes part of the parody supposed to be sung by Spain. Mi-chan is really good at singing like multiple people and he is so cute. This is no exception.

アナザー：ワールドイズマイン -Band Edition-【ベェェェェジュ】
The title reads "World is Mine: Another Version". This song is composed of ryo's melody (from the original World is Mine and Anima's lyrics. Beeeeige did a good job with this.

天樂 [のど飴]
This reads as "Tenraku". Originally sung by Kagamine Rin as composed by あちゃ (Achya). Nodoame does an amazing cover again. I love this one! Well, this has been uploaded for quite sometime and I just suck at checking updates, LOL.

孤独の果て [のど飴]
The title reads as "The End of Isolation", I think. Originally sung by Kagamine Rin as composed by NEGI. Another Nodoame cover :3. I like the previous one more but this isn't shabby either.

LOVER'S QUARREL [のど飴]
This is an original song, a collaboration between Nodoame, Sunaame, pktr and HYBRID SENSE. Not bad. Commenters said it reminds them of SIAM SHADE XD.
