I'll just be including the Romanized title, the singer, and the original composer. As my Internet is acting up as usual, I wasn't able to include links to the mylists and all that but I hope you understand :).

Based on the previous post here, you should've known that this is the PONPONPON Matsuri Week, which means there are TONS of covers of this super catchy song you'll end up singing it while you sleep! Worry not though since there are actually many arrangements of the song (and many styles in terms of covering it) so you won't be bored. It's a PONPONPON dominated week, but make sure to check out the other covers, too, since they are all equally good.

This week, Senbonzakura still reigns supreme, making it a bandwagon song that doesn't pale in comparison to Matryoshka and Ura Omote Lovers. This week also gives us a bit of nostalgia because there are a lot of covers of old songs, songs we have encountered when we're all new to the fandom. I hope you enjoy this one.

Also, as a very kind move, Utaran-san is trying to upload the Weekly Utattemita Ranking IN ENGLISH. That means the blurb, the intro notes as well as the data in the ranking will all be in English. This is really a plus especially to those who have a hard time watching and/or commenting in the original ranking. The English ranking will be uploaded in Nico Nico.Com and for starters, he has created a mirror of the ranking there. If you cannot comment in Japanese in the original NND video, go all out in commenting in the English site to show your comments and reactions to the ranking as well as thanks to Utaran-san, who is painstakingly trying to reach out to us foreign fans.

Currently, we have a typhoon here in the Philippines, so we're experiencing power failures and intermittent Internet connection. Since I want to post this as fast as I can before we lose power here, I'm leaving out descriptions again. Apologies for being late. I have no Internet at home and I just snuck!wrote this while I'm busy with work. I'll try my best to post Vocaran later or tomorrow, too. I'm sad that I don't get to flail much with the songs since I can't load Nico Nico Douga here at all so please ignore my lack of witty comments. There are a LOT of wonderful new songs this week, particularly in the top ten. There's also a gratuitous amount of crack and parodies. There is also a ton of tapir song covers XD. A couple of singers here in the ranking are more known in the namahousou part of NND and just crossed over here. Hope you enjoy them despite the boring writeup!

This week is full of collabs and pairings, so expect to see a lot of them filling the rankings. You might notice last week that there is a slight bandwagoning of Suki Kirai? Well, it's not dying down and you'll even see more of them next week.

Anyway, you might notice that the Weekly Utaran has changed video dimensions (it's clearer and wider now!) as well as frame designs XD. I feel bad for not mentioning last week, but the portions are now of different colors (new uploads is blue, overall ranking is purple, pickup is light blue and history is orange). Utaran-san made great efforts to customize the presentation to everyone's viewing comforts, too, with all the data collected in the sides and properly labeled. Of course, make sure you stare hard at the screen at the rank intervals because Hibiki (if you don't know who Hibiki is...he's the Utaran mascot) appears in the frames, too XD.

So, this ranking is now color-coded. The links have colors specific to the portions so as to avoid confusion. The song names are still clickable, by the way. Please tell me if it looks okay or not. If not, I'll revert to the old format!

It's surprising that all the songs that rose last week now fell, probably because of the influx of new songs. As what I've done last year, here's the writeup for the massive, massive annual utattemita ranking 2010. Since this is a large list, I won't be including some of the stuff I include in the weekly utaran. For this, I'll only be posting the Romanized/translated title of the song, the singer/mylist and the link to the original song. WHEW. That took me a long time. I hope you enjoyed this annual ranking as much as I did. While I expected some songs to be in the ranking but did not end up there at all, I guess the top spots are pretty predictable, aren't they? :D
