This week is full of collabs and pairings, so expect to see a lot of them filling the rankings. You might notice last week that there is a slight bandwagoning of Suki Kirai? Well, it's not dying down and you'll even see more of them next week.

Anyway, you might notice that the Weekly Utaran has changed video dimensions (it's clearer and wider now!) as well as frame designs XD. I feel bad for not mentioning last week, but the portions are now of different colors (new uploads is blue, overall ranking is purple, pickup is light blue and history is orange). Utaran-san made great efforts to customize the presentation to everyone's viewing comforts, too, with all the data collected in the sides and properly labeled. Of course, make sure you stare hard at the screen at the rank intervals because Hibiki (if you don't know who Hibiki is...he's the Utaran mascot) appears in the frames, too XD.

So, this ranking is now color-coded. The links have colors specific to the portions so as to avoid confusion. The song names are still clickable, by the way. Please tell me if it looks okay or not. If not, I'll revert to the old format!

You might notice that dreamwidth's celebrating Three Weeks for Dreamwidth, which commemorates the site's anniversary. We're very thankful to DW for giving us a place for this comm as well as giving invites so you guys can make journals so we'd like to participate in the celebration as well. The thing is we haven't thought of what to do XD. But we will, somehow, so please wait for it XD. Weekly Utattemita Ranking # 116 (January 17-24, 2011)

This week is awesome because there are many, many wonderful covers from people we all know and love. The new number one caused a lot of songs from the same singer to return to the ranking. Some of the songs I expected to stay dropped out while some I didn't expect to excel rose far above others. I'm pleasantly surprised with some, so let's get started with this week.

Keysuke started uploading his covers in Nico Nico Douga August of 2009. He's a pretty good singer and is sadly not very popular. It could be because he has a habit of singing really popular songs at that time so he gets overshadowed despite the high quality of his wonderful covers. Most of the time, his covers get the decent 4-8k views although sometimes, he hits a good song and breaks out of 10k views.

Keysuke's voice quality is similar to ShounenT's and Rumdarjun's and everyone in the "gentle, kind voice" column, just a bit on the rougher side although the range is the same. That is why he sounds really nice in ballads and jazzy songs and in slightly high pitches. His voice is often dubbed as eroyaka (eroi + sawayaka/gentle). He has also collaborated with a lot of other utaite like Chibita, Yoru, terry and Cocolu.

Being a Yoru fan, I first knew of Keysuke in his collabs with Yoru, particularly EAS and "Perfect Crime" where he sounds really great. Eventually, I looked up his other works and found that I really love his ballads because they are so calming. I also like his covers with Maro and Terry (terry's deep voice!) because their blending are amazing. I think I like terryxkeysuke's cover of Yogoreta Prism more than DasoRen's ^^;.

Weekly Utattemita Ranking #107 (November 15-22, 2010)

This week continues with the not-so-weird pull-ups (from like, last year?) caused by new uploads as usual. We have a hard rock colonization btw, with three rock-ish songs in the top ten by wonderful people. The number 1 is no surprise. At all XD. But I hope you'll be surprised by the movements in the ranks as well as the new names. Also, El Shaddai is back. Thought I'd let you know XD.
