Weekly Utattemita Ranking #109 (November 29 to December 06, 2010)

This is late (and the rest might be late, too) because of certain difficulties as I have no Internet at home and my work has blocked Nico Nico Douga. I apologize for delays in the future, too, if this kind of fail happens for a long time OTL.

Anyway, a big thanks to stephieku and the person who uploads the weekly utaran himself (who is so kind, I don't even...), I managed to get the ranking list and just...listened to them one by one instead of the ranking itself. I might miss some comments re: some of the songs, so sorry ;;. Anyway, on to the ranking, which is pretty predictable given the songs released this week :). There are tons of new songs, there wasn't much space for the oldies to cling on :(.

PS: The Vocaloid links in the blurbs inevitably lead to nicosound because it's what I used to listen to the songs ^^;. I'll try changing them but for now, please tolerate them Y_Y; Hopefully fixed the links back to Nicovideo.

Stuff

• There are too many Vocaloid-related stuff happening at the moment (events, album release, etc.) and I am not updated with everything ;;. If you want to be updated with stuff, you can view the Vocaloid Schedule in Miku blog. It has all the releases, JOYSOUND stuff and events listed.

• For those who have found DYE -Synthesis-, Reversus and Hysteresis to be wonderful and would love to have a copy, the albums are available in Toranoana :).

• Usa Colony has opened the website for UTAU Ureine Usa

• Speaking of Usa Colony, I'm sure we are all aware of their live concert this November. The lineup includes Usa, Tourai, Syana (KurousaP), Kobayashi Onix, 19's sound factory, doriko and hajime. Their guests musicians include Shobon from MINT and Tissue-hime.

• Valshe's album 「storyteller」 now has a crossfade up in Nico Nico Douga here.

• The net tickets for the next Daikaigi concert is now for sale here. I posted the guest list before here.

• Lead Is New Emotion (L.I.N.E.) which is a duo composed of utaite che:Sakurai and arranger/composer HYBRID SENSE are to release an album this coming October. The name of the mini album is dawn of new emotion. You can check out their myspace for other information (as well as pictures :3).

• We have something to look forward to for the next M3 (Music, Media-mix Market). Omatsuri Boyz composed of That, Clear, Kettaro, Mi-chan, Kouhei (Hagane Tsuwamono) and Donnie is planning to release something in that con/event. No details as of yet, but you can view their website here

• Clear held a mini-live in Tower Records last night which was broadcasted in Nico Nico Douga. I have a report as well as other stuff in his fansite. If you have the time, please answer the survey in the report post ;)! The lack of clear updates here is because I'm putting them all there, sorry ^^;.

• Next week's Nicoraji seems to be utaite-packed. On Monday (09/20) they will have Asamaru and Jack as guests. On Tuesday (09/21) they will have Clear and Nero. You can view Nicoraji here. It starts 22:00 Japan time.

• The guy who does the Weekly Utattemita Ranking has been referring to the English writeups in this comm for a few weeks already, so everyone, please behave XD. If you are on twitter, please thank him for his hard work every week. His twitter is here :).

• UmiNeko's uploading more songs lately and I'm slowly getting used to hearing his voice (it's pretty nice). This is a rather upbeat song that while not my UmiNeko favorite, is pretty good.

• I'm suddenly reminded of B'z XD. I love [REN]'s voice and songs like this fits his voice so much. I think this is one of my favorite covers by him (my current favorite is still Ocean though XD).

So many old songs have found their way back to the ranking while the usual suspects seem to have dropped out! XD This is a really interesting week for me and I wonder if the oldies will persist until next week or will they be overrun by the usual people again? :3

• A singing Vocaloid producer made it to the top of the weekly uploads this week XD. CosMo is more known for his compositions such as Infinite∞HOLiC, Infinite and Packaged. But he sings sometimes, too (check out his magnet cover with samfree XD).

• "Freedom" in title means the song was sung as freely as it can be sung. There might be changed lyrics, adlibs, Yoppei-like screams, etc. XD This one sung by Ishiganto is pretty tame compared to the ones I'm used to, but it's nice.

• Miimu is like, the queen of weekly uploads. She's always in the ranking XD. It's not bad since she has a really pretty voice, though. This song was also covered by DECO*27 himself once, so it's a bit hard for me to listen to this after listening to DECO's version. As usual, though, Miimu carried it through really well. It's a very cute cover.

• I haven't heard of Erusi before but she has a nice, husky voice. Asamaru did the mixing for her in this one.
