Utattemita Ranking #105 (November 1-8, 2010)

Happy 2nd anniversary to the weekly utattemita ranking! This is a rather uneventful ranking for me, although to note are the singers new to the ranking (there are quite a lot!). Oh, and 1 and 2 totally amused me to no end. I didn't expect they would be there, but they are XD. I am a happ camper in that part :3. Please forgive the lack of witty comments.

• I actually like this better than Nobunaga's version. There's still a mountain of autotune in this song, which can't be helped, but Guriri sounds more solid and more refined. There's a bit of awkwardness with the phrasing but you can't help getting confused with the Engrish in this song ^^;.

• I haven't heard from Sorako much before this so I'm kind of glad she's uploading pretty covers again. Her high voice suits NioP's Miku range, although sometimes a bit missing from her cover. Very simply sung, which makes it a nice listen.

This week's ranking has a lot of familiar names so it's pretty comfy and nostalgic XD. Not a lot of returnees aside from the usual regulars, although there are a couple of surprising rises. The Heart Sutra craze has died down but there are still remnants of Nirvana in the ranking. Aside from that, the Matryoshka/Calc. matsuri aren't showing any signs of lying low XD.

As expected, two things are moving this week's ranking: 1) The Heart Sutra madness in Vocaloid-dom, which affected this side, too and 2) Jimmythumb's Calc, which already has tons of covers. Sadly, I am VERY biased with Calc covers (I like only ONE. And it's not in NND /shot). Plus, there's still remnants of Shinbakusuu #0822 and some of the returners are still persistent in staying. There's someone who invaded the ranking with three songs in the top 10, I wonder who that is XDD.

Also, today at 3PM Japan Time, Nicoraji will have a special episode where they will hold the radio show open to the public in Shibuya. The guests include clear, dasoku, pokota, noaru, kettaro, miichan, saiya, nomiya ayumi and rapbeat. You can view information about it here. The link also has the ... link to the Nico Nico broadcast.

Apparently, timeshifting for free users is allowed, although you cannot timeshift more than 1 video at a time. This means when you timeshifted a future namahousou, you cannot timeshift another one. You either have to remove the previous one or watch it. So, if you want to watch this nicoraji episode so badly but cannot at the specified time, you can try timeshifting it and watching it later. As for watching it on the specified time, it'll be easier than other lives since nicoraji can hold more audience than normal namahousou :). (that one featured program I watched has 20k viewers...orz). So, I hope you all get to watch esp. if you like any of the guests! :)
