This week, we are facing the second part of the PONPONPON matsuri as well as an influx of popular people suddenly uploading songs (Yaybisasamakkufaneruetc). We also have quite a few Babylon covers for some good reason. It's a pretty predicatable ranking, but I hope you enjoy the variety this one gives (in between the PON and the WEI).

As what I've done last year, here's the writeup for the massive, massive annual utattemita ranking 2010. Since this is a large list, I won't be including some of the stuff I include in the weekly utaran. For this, I'll only be posting the Romanized/translated title of the song, the singer/mylist and the link to the original song. Since most of these songs are from the weekly utarans all throughout 2010, I'll also spare you my spazz unless I can't keep myself quiet :D. Onto the 5-part special!

* The parts are divided in many subparts, but for the purpose of continuity, I organized my writeup differently from the order in the videos.

You can refer to this ranking like the "overall weekly ranking" in weekly utaran. These are songs not uploaded in 2010 but have gained tons views, comments and mylists from 12-25-2009 to 12-25-2010. As expected, some of them are also the highest viewed, commented and mylisted videos of all time in this category. I did not elaborate on them like I did in the main ranking since you know most of these songs already, I bet XD. This list is also in reverse, from 100 to 001.

WHEW. That took me a long time. I hope you enjoyed this annual ranking as much as I did. While I expected some songs to be in the ranking but did not end up there at all, I guess the top spots are pretty predictable, aren't they? :D

Weekly Utaran's List of Ranking Number 1's.

Today is the 100th Weekly Utattemita Ranking and the upnushi has compiled a list of all the songs which ranked number 1 in all those 100 rankings. Nicoraji (Asamakku, Cleanero, Dagero) Reports

First of all, thank you to everyone who participated in the Skype chat for three consecutive days /o/!! I'm really glad to see everyone get along and flail together and while we're a bit too random and spazzy that we kind of made all those pencils crazy, it was really fun! (aside from the part where I have no more dignity, let's not talk about that...)

Second, this is a more coherent report on what happened in the three Nicoraji episodes for those who missed it/cannot watch. This is not a complete report, though, just a list of interesting things that happened in the show. You can still listen to the episodes via timeshift.

Third, this is my translation of what happened and some of them might be inconsistent. Please do not copy-paste anywhere without my permission, thanks!

News, Reports, Info, etc.

Stuff

• There are too many Vocaloid-related stuff happening at the moment (events, album release, etc.) and I am not updated with everything ;;. If you want to be updated with stuff, you can view the Vocaloid Schedule in Miku blog. It has all the releases, JOYSOUND stuff and events listed.

• For those who have found DYE -Synthesis-, Reversus and Hysteresis to be wonderful and would love to have a copy, the albums are available in Toranoana :).

• Usa Colony has opened the website for UTAU Ureine Usa

• Speaking of Usa Colony, I'm sure we are all aware of their live concert this November. The lineup includes Usa, Tourai, Syana (KurousaP), Kobayashi Onix, 19's sound factory, doriko and hajime. Their guests musicians include Shobon from MINT and Tissue-hime.

• Valshe's album 「storyteller」 now has a crossfade up in Nico Nico Douga here.

• The net tickets for the next Daikaigi concert is now for sale here. I posted the guest list before here.

• Lead Is New Emotion (L.I.N.E.) which is a duo composed of utaite che:Sakurai and arranger/composer HYBRID SENSE are to release an album this coming October. The name of the mini album is dawn of new emotion. You can check out their myspace for other information (as well as pictures :3).

• We have something to look forward to for the next M3 (Music, Media-mix Market). Omatsuri Boyz composed of That, Clear, Kettaro, Mi-chan, Kouhei (Hagane Tsuwamono) and Donnie is planning to release something in that con/event. No details as of yet, but you can view their website here

• Clear held a mini-live in Tower Records last night which was broadcasted in Nico Nico Douga. I have a report as well as other stuff in his fansite. If you have the time, please answer the survey in the report post ;)! The lack of clear updates here is because I'm putting them all there, sorry ^^;.

• Next week's Nicoraji seems to be utaite-packed. On Monday (09/20) they will have Asamaru and Jack as guests. On Tuesday (09/21) they will have Clear and Nero. You can view Nicoraji here. It starts 22:00 Japan time.

• The guy who does the Weekly Utattemita Ranking has been referring to the English writeups in this comm for a few weeks already, so everyone, please behave XD. If you are on twitter, please thank him for his hard work every week. His twitter is here :).

Some stuff

• There's a news in nico nico douga regarding multiple accounts with the same IP address.

• Asamakku (Asamaru and Jack) has issued some new rules for members of their community, rooting from the HIGH STREAM housou Asamaru guested in. I think Asamaru was a bit uncomfortable during that housou because of his fans spamming the chatbox, so they are asking their fans for some things when listening to them in a non-Asamakku live. These include:
- not calling them by their pet names if possible (Marutan, Jack-tan, Maruko, Asako, Jakko, etc.);
- not spamming about Asamakku as a unit when only one is guesting and the housou is not related to Asamakku;
- not spamming with too much emoticons (you know those scrolling shooting stars, etc.);
- not mentioning inside jokes and info only known in the community;
- not chatting with other members with trivial stuff not related to the housou;
- not mentioning anything trivial which is not related to the convo (e.g., I'm sleeping, I'm eating, etc.).
I think this generally means being more formal when listening to Asamaru and Jack in a housou outside the Asamakku community. Since HIGH STREAM is a more...formal housou, with musicians who do not know the inside works of Asamakku and its family, it must've been a bit uncomfy seeing the spam.

• The production of the album in a graceful sound is already in the works. This is a CD with original songs written by Vocaloid composers and sung by Nico utaite. The mentioned collabs are:

- 40mP x Tourai
- KuwagataP x Usa
- kous x F9
- ←P x Rumdarjun
- scop x Erusi
It will be released August 14, 2010 and will be sold for 1000 yen

• You can now order the MGS Utattemita CD ~Starry Sky~ in Amazon, instead of doing it the roundabout way in toranoana :). Kudos to hatsudai-san and the people involved for making it possible.

PointFive (.5) enhAnce CD

PUPI and SunaP just announced information about their CD: enhAnce which is performed by a group called PointFive (.5). PointFive is composed of Dasoku, Asamaru, Clear, Amu, Miichan and PUPI. You might notice, if you've listened to previous lives by Pupi, that this is the "DACAMP" secret he's been discussing for about a month now ;).

The website can be found here.

The CD will have 12 songs and will be a mixture of original songs composed by PUPI, SunaP and guest producers (Nem, 40mP and RenaissanceP). The cover art, if I'm not mistaken, was drawn by Aki Akane. The CD will be released July 07, 2010 at 2,625 yen. There is already an Amazon page for it :).

Okay, this is a massive, massive list. It consists of four parts! Because of it's...um, massiveness, I won't be including some of the details I usually include in the normal rankings. Since we've been missing him a lot (and Clear's been taking too much of our time), let's go back to getting to know Tolie/Tourai. :3

I think I have flailed about him too much in my LJ, but for the newbies, here goes nothing~:

Tolie or Tourai is a Nico singer who is also a producer/composer of Vocaloid songs. You might have known him before as minato or RyuuseiP. Some of his compositions include Kagamine Len's SPICE!, Megurine Luka's RIP=RELEASE and the infamous magnet by Megurine Luka and Hatsune Miku. As a singer, he has a wonderfully rich and deep voice but he isn't afraid to go falsetto or reach high notes. Some people say he sings like Miyano Mamoru, but I don't think so. He sings by the book and rarely does adlibs or restyling unlike Jack or Clear. As a result, his songs aren't as amusing or interesting as other covers, but his voice makes up enough for it. :) Still, he's a pretty popular singer and while I love his compositions (FAITH ♥) I wish he'd sing some more.

The song list is arranged by date of uploading. Since he doesn't have interesting tags in his uploads, I have refrained from quoting tags XD.

Not-So-New Stuff

I'm supposed to do the new stuff post every week, but things happened so it now seems that I'm doing them PER MONTH ;A;. Sorry. I am not posting the formal new stuff post now. I'm only posting new things from Nico singers we're familiar with. Nico links included, you can input them in nicosound so you can download the .mp3 file :). No youtube right now, because it slows down my ~~BL serifu~~ streams :3.

Little Traveler [Clear]
Originally sung by Hatsune Miku as composed by OneRoom-P. Clear is really the king of ballads for me. This is another great cover. Wotamin did the mixing for this song, too. :3.

グレア [ヲタみん]
The title reads "Glare". Originally sung by Kagamine Rin as composed by BaruP. Wotamin has a nice singing voice and while this song is not really as impressive as her other covers (like Ouka Ryouran), it's a treat to hear her sing "cool" songs instead of her usual "cutesy" ones. Valshe did the encoding for this song.

夢桜【柿チョコ×バルシェ】
The title reads "Dreamy Sakura". Originally sung by Rin and Len as composed by ひとしずくＰ (HitoshizukuP). Of course, Kakichoco is singing for Rin while Valshe is singing for Len. I like the Vocaloid version of this song, so I was thrilled when I discovered Valshe did a rendition ♥. The story of this song is of forbidden love...a bit sad: Rin's character was to be married to Gakupo's character when one night, she met and fell in love with a young violinist (Len's character).

野良犬疾走日和【じゃっく×ちょうちょ】
The title reads "A Fair Weather for a Stray Dog to Run". Originally sung by KAITO and MEIKO as composed by BosuP (I'm not writing his full name orz). 寂聴 (Jakuchou) has sung this really well. We hear Chouchou's gentle but clear voice and Jack's deep seme voice XD;. I don't know much about the song, though. I just know it's about someone who runs, LOL.

不屈の魂でごっちゃに！ [ASK]
This is a mix of different themes from anime and game. I think that about sums up what this video is about. The amazing thing is ASK sang them all (Lucky Star, Suzumiya Haruhi, etc.). ♥

トマトのうた [みーちゃん]
This is a cover of Delicious Tomato Song by Hetalia's Italy (Namikawa Daisuke) and includes part of the parody supposed to be sung by Spain. Mi-chan is really good at singing like multiple people ~~and he is so cute~~. This is no exception.

アナザー：ワールドイズマイン -Band Edition-【ベェェェェジュ】
The title reads "World is Mine: Another Version". This song is composed of ryo's melody (from the original World is Mine and Anima's lyrics. Beeeeige did a good job with this.

天樂 [のど飴]
This reads as "Tenraku". Originally sung by Kagamine Rin as composed by あちゃ (Achya). Nodoame does an amazing cover again. I love this one! Well, this has been uploaded for quite sometime and I just suck at checking updates, LOL.

孤独の果て [のど飴]
The title reads as "The End of Isolation", I think. Originally sung by Kagamine Rin as composed by NEGI. Another Nodoame cover :3. I like the previous one more but this isn't shabby either.

LOVER'S QUARREL [のど飴]
This is an original song, a collaboration between Nodoame, Sunaame, pktr and HYBRID SENSE. Not bad. Commenters said it reminds them of SIAM SHADE XD.

Since I'm still on high with Jack and his stupidly long radio show, I'm starting with him ♥.

Jack is a part of Asamaru's group of utattemita singers (there are four of them in the family, I think). Because of his wonderful diction and clear and "spicy" voice, he is dubbed as an auditory "hi-jack-er". He is also fondly called "Ouji" by fans. He has an amazing voice range and can easily reach high notes without faltering. He doesn't pay attention to a specific genre and covers songs from Vocaloid, anime and J-pop. People have likened his voice to some seiyuu, including Ishida Akira. I still think he sounds similar to Aiba Hiroki (the speaking voice, even more).
